A true Hunter
With all the whining on the forums since TTK with the majority of them being Hunters I thought I'd share some thoughts.
When I pictured a Hunter, especially in the crucible, I pictured a cocky D-bag that would run through the crucible and make it look like a game, no matter how challenging. No matter how hard you had to try and how sweaty your palms were at the end, you would pull through and make it look easy while doing it. Cool, composed, relentless style. To me that's what it means to be a Hunter.
For the most part that's how it was in Year 1, until you guys started to feel threatened for the first time. The Sunbreaker emerged. The first sign of an equal or superior force you cry then you whine. The complete opposite of the Year 1 Hunters we've grown to respect. At the first sign of real competition you whine and beg for nerfs and buffs?
The Hunters I knew wouldn't have hesitated to put 2 rounds of Golden Gun right
between my eyes to shut me down and put me in my place. Not caring that it took 1 extra round, as long as I was shut down and you had atleast 1 or 2 more rounds left to put down anyone else foolish enough to challenge you at your peak. A year ago, every Hunter would have killed for a bow that could stop any enemy in it's tracks, and wouldn't give a second thought to put 1 or 3 arrows into my chest for any given reason. Nothing can stop you if your aim is true.
What happened Hunters? Does your aim fail you now? Is your marksmanship only effective against an inferior force? When did you become so cowardly.
Edit: We should start this thing. Any whining, misinformed Hunters we come across we should direct them here lol

PvE is a picnic for me, which is good, because my cloak is also a blanket. PvP is not my strong suit, so I try every time I play to improve my aim. When the Vex and Time's Conflux threatened existence, I went in with my team to silence them. When the Son of Oryx attempted to rise out of his pit, I went with that same team to send him screaming into the void between worlds. I am proud to be one of the Hunters who formed what is good in the Hunter community. I may slip up and abandon my team every now and then; it happens, I'm a hunter. The important thing is that I will always turn around and fight my way back to my teammates. When Oryx himself came, looking to destroy me and the people I fight for, I took the void bow and promised to destroy him, which I and 5 others did. Now, I take up another promise. I vow to never complain about the powers of my teammates, for they are what helps me return home from the field, and grow stronger in the Crucible. I vow to never exploit any flaws that may show up in any of my abilities, no matter how small it may seem. Finally, I vow, that, should I ever see one of my Hunter family doing what I know to be wrong, I will do my best to stop them. This is my oath, and in the Light I bind it all the days of my life.

Im supprised you expected better from us. You know what I saw titians as in year one? Courageous, ballzy mother -blam!-ers running into the enemy team in fist slamming whole teams into oblivion, or team leaders tacticaly using there shields to buff allies or plant a big blue ball of -blam!- you in enemy territory. Now all I see is a bad guy from Super Mario throwing hammers from his cloud

Wel I don't really main any character more than the other, I play all three equally, started my warlock off first then my Titan and made my Hunter after ttk was released because nightstalker is sick af lol, I never had a problem using GG or arcblade in crucible, but when I was on my Titan doing iron banner this past week I was spammed by shadowshot like crazy, after I hit rank 5 in iron banner (which btw was done in 2 1/2 days) I went on my Hunter and shadowshot spammed back, i know it's bad to use exploits in a pvp area, but honestly I do better without it, it was just fun using it though, but I went in the kings fall raid and all I used was the glitch constantly and we completed the raid in about 1 1/2 hours then I did it 2 more times and also did a lot of strikes, honestly it's a lot of fun using this glitch in pve rather than crucible imo

True Hunter here. This post has so much truth. I remember when we were the ones everyone cried nerf about. "Arc Blade takes no skill!" "Blink Shotgun slide is unfair!" Etc, etc. Back then we would proudly proclaim that it was harder than it looked, and that nerfs are always bad for the game. Well, now we're not the only ones with a PvP-focused subclass, and some of us are going to turn it around on the Titans? The [b]titans[/b], many of whom were honorable enough to take our side when the Warlocks proclaimed themselves the master race. For shame. A true Hunter doesn't complain. A true Hunter sucks it up and gits gud or he keeps his mouth shut.

The thing is, I'm not afraid to pop 2 Golden Bullets in your chest to put you down, I may falter sometimes but I don't let that keep me down.

1 ReplyIt isn't the action. It is the principle. 66% damage reduction is not okay. Thankfully the Celestial Nighthawk is good against such adversaries. That thing has helped me collect buckets worth of tears, rage mail and report notices.

1 ReplyShooter games have always been my favorite. I've been running sniper classes since way back in Deus Ex 1 in 2000. I recently bought destiny, almost finished the game, and found my new passion...The Hunter. The Hunter class suits me down to the ground. I am now looking to squad up with other gamers who can give me some tips, help me unlock some good weapons/armour as I don't have a lot and not sure how to get it. I main a hunter that I need to get back to but I'm working on titan. I'm glad titans have sun breaker it evens the field. I have sun breaker but don't use it cause I still need to max defender.

Titan hard on for hammers. Honestly, are you that afraid of having less armor when you activate your hammer? You must have no shame. Havoc strike was one of the best supers in crucible year one. If you didn't use it right that's your lack of skill. Now you want your godly supper to remain over powered. Honestly, why do you need so much armor when you regen health with every kill. That's a hunter thing and we don't live through a single hammer while doing it. You going to tell bungie to buff our armor up or you just going to complain about people calling your super out for being over armored? We have enough people trying to cheat the game. We don't need an unbalanced super to help those people out.

8 RepliesHello Guardians! I am Jemjr, I am a Hunter, and here is my Rant. My only problem with being a Hunter is that every time I learn to be the class with something unique that others feared Bungie gives to the other classes. Bladedancer < Sunbreaker. They're Basically the same...except one of moves like a Blade Dancer throwing Tiny Nova Bombs. Shadestep? A joke since the Titan gets that Twilight Garrison chest piece which they can combine with shoulder charge and probably something else to allow them to travel massive distance and change direction almost seamlessly. Golden Gun? One shot by a Pulse Rifle. Bladedancer? Effective...until u find out a Warlock on the other time has a Nova Bomb with ur name on it. Nightstalker? The game changer. U control the Battlefield if u let it control u. U can place smokes down in an area u know ur enemy will emerge from and attack while they are blinded and weak. U can do the same with a Shadowshot that will also prevent ur enemy from using their amazing abilities on you AND (if its placed in a spot where it has time to wake up from its void slumber) you cam stop them mid super. They deal less damage and take more from literally everything. But as Nightstalker u have no regenerative skills. U can choose high armor and risk ever getting ur health and shields back ever again and moving slower than a sloth with broken limbs, high health regeneration and risk being shot twice and running behind cover or out gunning ur opponent, or my favorite: high agility. Sure u never heal and get shot once buy a pulse rifle and have a slicer health left but u can cover distances like a pro right?....wrong. A Titan can easily Ice Skate past you and steal your kill. A Warlock can flick his wrist and deal more damage than two of your melee attacks at the press of a button. But Hunters are overpowered, simply because we make ourselves loom good and u Warlocks and Titans and upset that we can. Does the Hunter need a buff? No, the old dog just needs to learn new tricks.

1 ReplyNerfing the gun that hunters were known to use made a big change in the pvp gameplay. I made a post about my handcannon ill will. It didnt even damage the enemy even though i hit the guy square in the chest when he was only 8 feet from me. I shot twice amd nothing happend. I had to switch to my sniper as fast as possible to quick scope snipe him and pray it hits, because my handcannon got fuxked

If I ever see a sunbreaker, it's usually at such a distance that they won't know what just killed them when I have them in my scope. If I'm running into a sunbreaker at close range I have the sense to make distance if I have none. And hey, if I get killed, no big deal. I don't cry OP and Nerf like some of my brothers and sisters do. I figure they timed their super right and it's no wonder I'm dead. When a Hunter is at a disadvantage like this we're supposed to be able to adapt to the situation and get the job done regardless. If you can't do that, you're not a hunter at all, you're just a Warlock with a cape ;) Also, on another side note, from what I can tell the only reason hunters are pinned as whiners is because only the baby hunters like to post things on here, and when they do its almost always about getting attention and complaining about not being skilled enough to take a challenge. All the REAL hunters are standing back and watching these people trip all over themselves. Sign here if you're a REAL hunter.

1 ReplyI swear to god, every Titan thinks hunters are a douchebags, but most of us are not. Most of us don't even complain. It's just the 5% that screw up our reputation. Each class is OP in its own way. Golden Gun, only 3 shots without an exotic. No damage resistance. Bladedancer, a super that is easily killable and has to get next to you to even kill you. Nightstalker, can only get 3 kills with the right perks on. Yes, it can stop supers, but you can run away in time to get out of the radius of it. These supers are easily counterable. Only a few of us even complain about the other classes

Never stopped playing as a hunter, and I still make it look easy.. I laugh now when I see sunbreakers on the other team, because if I have my bow, or my golden gun(on the 1 match out of hundreds I may equip it) then they're likely going to die. I might go with em but they're not getting away without a fight.. So.. Yeah.. We're still out there, it's just.. There's not as many of us left...
