Was the Halo series better with Bungie?
I just feel as though 343 didn't have the same touch when it comes to both gameplay and story telling. Halo-Halo 3 and a nice well written story with an amazing conclusion. It looks like there are some major gaps between Halo 4 and Halo 5. I'm worried that these games won't be as good as the old ones I'm wondering if Halo 5 is even worth buying. I don't know what do you guys think?

Edit 2: Halo 5 is out! Thoughts? Multiplayer? Campaign? How does it fare against the past Bungie Halo's?
Edit 3: Just finished the Halo 5 campaign... Very underwhelming. I thought that the game was rushed, too full of itself to realize some flaws and none of the reveals were shocking, leaving me with an un-satisfactory experience. Also aside from some questionable spawns I enjoy multiplayer.

10 RepliesMy problem is that 343 said: "Halo will be going back to its roots", yet we never had a huge scale battle like in Halo 1 on Assault on the Control Room or the Ark in Halo 3.

Bungie's felt more magical and interesting. Maybe its just been so long nothing is impressive anymore.

2 Replies-blam!- it's tough. I like H5's gameplay, but Destiny's gameplay is also amazing. I enjoyed Bungie's SP, and 343's H4... but H5 made me do a complete 180 on believing 343 can out out a solid campaign now.

No, people just don't remember all the whining back then. People whined in h2 because of the arbiter. They whined when halo reach came out because it was such a bad game (which it wasn't). And i'm sure they also did when odst came out. Many many bungie employees switched to 343 to keep on working on halo. And i can tell you that halo wouldn't look too different if bungie would still work on it

After playing halo 5 it's a very tough choice and can only be determined after forge comes into play

Even though I support 343 and i generally like their Halos, bungie did a great job that's pretty hard to beat.

1 ReplyI kinda wish 343i would bring bungie back to simply design the fps gameplay. I don't know how to describe it but Bungie has mastered the futuristic shooter. 343i has the same effect on Halo as Treyarch had on CoD. When the old IW was still making CoD their games always felt superior in terms of gameplay. Treyarch and 343i's games feel like they are trying their best to recreate the original but it's just not the same.

4 RepliesPeople don't understand, 343 is actually made up of Ex-Bungie employees. Bungie is still technically with Halo. This is the Halo..they were eventually going to make.

To answer your question if Bungie (now) made Halo 5 then Im pretty sure it would be worst. Its just people are filled with nostalgia, everyone keeps comparing it like: "Halo 5 will never beat Halo this and halo that" Listen up, if you think its better then go play it, theres this thing called change and sometimes it needs to happen or else it will get tiresome and repetitive. And I read this somewhere and its very true: If you release those old Halo games, Im sure as hell people would choose to play Halo 5 than those. It was fun but its time to move on.

Both did a good job. It's good that they left halo since they didn't want to make more halo games. If they had stayed it would have gone down in quality because they wouldn't be motivated as they would be if they were working on something that they were passionate about.

Even with Halo 4 on their record 343i takes the cake for me. CE had a very thin story but revolutionary multiplayer for a lot of people, 2 was a great step forward with the story AND multiplayer, 3 was eh with story and the multiplayer wasn't as much of a step up from 2 as 2 was from CE. Halo Reach was bad so there's that. Halo 5 brings back that great story telling that was absent after 2, and the multiplayer feels like a natural evolution of that arena MP from the classic halo's, without being as slow. TL;DR - Halo 5 is to 343 what 2 was for Bungie. Both dev teams other titles in the series just didn't hit the bar set by those two (which is a difficult feat in itself)

Not really. Halo CE didn't really have a great story, it's gameplay however was revolutionary. Halo 2 however was told incredibly well & it's multiplayer bought about the online scene for shooters. Halo 3's multiplayer improved a lot on halo 2 but it's story didn't by any means. Now onto 343: Halo 4 told a story which I personally thort was incredible, it's multiplayer was a step back from the previous 3 though. Halo 5 from what I've seen (still installing mine) is that the multiplayer is the best it's ever been with the war zone game mode taking the reigns & it's story not being incredible. Halo is always up and down but when in bungies hands, it was the king of multiplayer. 343 I belive given time, will be the king of both multiplayer and story one day.

3 Replies343 did a great job considering most of the original members of bungie left and went to 343. I would love see 343 create a destiny style game after halo 6. I think it would blow everything g destiny ever was and ever could be right out of the window

5 RepliesI love how most people don't realize that 343 is made up of a lot of ex bungie members who worked on the halo series. You do realize bungievision is not, is NOT, the same people who made halo 1-3. You just think everyone stayed on board with bungie after they sold the rights to Microsoft? Microsoft pretty much made 343 for the BUNGIE guys who wanted to keep working on halo games.
