Second exotic sword
So I got my first exotic sword, dark drinker on my Titan then went to my hunter and got arc edge put it on my Titan to infuse it but when I went to go get the quest it would not show up if I put it on either character.

It sounds to me like you didn't get the quest on the Titan because he's already done it, and you didn't get the quest on your hunter because the infuse didn't take place on the hunter. Try infusing your arc sword again if you can, but this time have the sword and the weapon being destroyed on your hunter first. Hopefully, Destiny will recognise that your hunter, which hasn't done the quest, has a sword infused above 280 and give your hunter the quest. If it doesn't work then you'll probably need help from Bungie.
