I for one am extremely excited for this ruling, as I tend to be a solitary crucible player. Especially in the Iron Banana, this will be wonderful, as I won't join in matches 18k to 3k. This is the most frustrating when it happens several times in a row or when you have full Medallions.
In normal crucible, this will make games quicker and you will get your rewards faster and be possibly more enjoyable.
What are your thoughts on this Mercy Ruling?
Edit: Heading to bed now, don't hate me because I violated the Code of Rick and was met with Astley justice.

The Crucible is no place for mercy! *implements mercy rule*
-
The Mercy Rule is a step in the right direction. Just this morning I was in a couple matches where each side had a strong lead and a comeback was impossible. Bungie still has a lot of rework to do on the Crucible. The extreme imbalance of skill levels is ridiculous. In one of the matches I was in earlier today the top player on my team had 45 kills, while the low end players had single digits. This is a clear example of poor design. Low end players should never be competing with others way above their level.
-
They should call it surrender and not mercy
-
A team that doesn't care about K/D but does care a lot about time efficiency could get through a lot of matches very quickly.
-
I just hope it won't make comebacks impossible.
-
THAT WILL BE ANSWERED THIS MONDAY NIGHT AT SUPER SLAAAM!
-
I think that it has its positivity as it pertains to the "joining in progress" of horrid games. However, I'm more so annoyed by the number of 6-man teams there are in REGULAR clash. Implement a partied team finder for partied teams, or something.
-
I see what you are getting at with the Iron Banana instant loss game but if you lose you get a free medallion of iron which is free reputation which isn't that bad
-
I made this exact thread the second the news was announced and got 30 replies. How does this work?
-
Why no "Indifferent" choice?
-
Because why bother even trying to make a comeback
-
Lord Shaxx literally says "The Crucible is no place for mercy!" "Ha ha, you're crushing them!" "Send them home crying!" "Leave none standing!"
-
I play a little pvp. Not a subject matter expert. My question to all the pvp players is this. When a point difference is reached, so that the mercy rule would end the match. What are the odds of the loosing team being able to win the match at that point?
-
It never said when EXACTLY the rule goes into effect during the match
-
In glad cause now I can use the mercy rule as an excuse when I lose ''Well I can't win if the game doesn't give me a chance''
-
I dislike joining a game that is lopsided as much as the next person, but I feel like this is just going to encourage people to get frustrated. There have been many games that I have joined in control down several thousand points and we came back and won, it's more about momentum than good or bad players.
-
Obvious point first: guess Crucible is indeed a place for mercy! OT: unfortunately this will screw up sweats unless we can fully understand how it's implemented. You can manage around getting apple'ed via free killing at the end, but not sure if you'll have that opportunity now depending upon how early the mercy rule kicks in.
-
Good: People getting Rekt don't have to endure being rekt Bad: There is no mercy in the crucible
-
I. WANT. THAT. MEDAL. NOW.
-
I only play alone so it'll be good for me when up against good 6 man fireteams especially during iron banner
-
Sum Of All Tears Will Be Hard To Get
-
I think it will cause people to sandbag (feed the other team) matches just to grind out rewards. Although it may be few and far between, I can see large fire teams using the mercy rule to exploit PVP. Being destroyed should make you play harder for the comeback, not sit idly by and wait for it to be over.
-
I like the idea, but it depends entirely on the execution. This has the potential to give the victory to whoever can pull ahead first. Just have to wait an see how strict the criteria is.
-
Im just happy theyre gonna stop throwing us into matches where one team is getting destroyed
-
Good rule. It will only trigger on extreme cases where the game would be no fun for anyone if played out anyway. No more 6 man teams stat-padding by stomping randoms, no more solo players spawning into retardedly bad matches.
-
I had minimal problems but if we get a medal for being the wrecking train then I'm fine with it
