Hopscotch is a two burst kill right outta the box. It's a High Impact/Low RoF Pulse Rifle... It doesn't really shine until you add a Stability buff to the center column: Braced Frame and Small Bore do the job REALLY WELL at the cost of a few rounds... Hand Laid Stock takes a little too much range away from it. Scopes: it has the highest base Aim Assist in its class... 50. Scopes are a player's preference. The SureShot IS will add +5 to the Aim Assist, but the Red Dot-OAS (mid range) and Focus FLA5 (long range) are nice too. All that being said, I wouldn't reforge good perks just for scopes. First and third column perks are a player's preference as well. You'll see most people lean toward reloading perks or damage perks... while these are nice... none of them will make this two burst beast a one burst monster. I would avoid Rodeo... HP's recoil is already perfectly vertical, making Critical Hits very easy to get... ESPECIALLY with a Stability buff. Hip Fire is another I wouldn't keep. It's all about landing those Critical Hits... and it's very hard to do that from the hip. 3rd Eye is a GREAT option for PvP... it will help prevent you from being caught scoped in. IF you're a squad based PvP player who works well with others, then any perk which requires a kill or a critical kill (Feeding Frenzy, Reactive Reload, and whatnot) may not help you that much... your FireTeam can easily bottom feed your kills and spoil your procs. Feeding Frenzy and Outlaw are nice, but If you're worried about your reloading speed, then Spray and Play is always a safe option... it procs every time, if you score the kill or not. Whatever you reforge, a nice pair of Pulse Rifle Loading Gloves are always a welcome addition. The third column damage perks such as Reactive Reload, Glass Half Full, and Headseeker are good... but not necessary. If you like them... great. NOTE: if you can land your Crits consistently, then Headseeker may never proc. Rangefinder is a great option for the mid range rolls... it will help keep your damage from dropping off and allow for longer range kills. Hidden Hand is a nice option. It can help you get those all important Critical Hits. Secret Round will help keep you engaged a little longer. If you land a full burst it only consumes two rounds instead of three. IF you miss a round it fires a fourth round and consumes three. You can try to spec it out like The Messenger, OR you can try to roll something that works for your style of play... Mid Range player? Braced Frame with SureShot or a Red Dot... Long Range player? Small Bore with SureShot and a Focus Lens. The best part about HP is that you can ALWAYS reforge it again later (at least until TTK drops... don't know if that will still be an option later). For those who say your HP is only good until TTK drops... don't be so sure. It will ALWAYS be a viable option in Non-Leveled Crucible. As long as your Level is equal to or higher than your opponent the leveled Attack damage doesn't seem to make that much difference (yet)... my 331 Attack Three Little Words was the same two burst kill as my 365 Attack Hopscotch in the last Iron Banner. I have Hopscotch Pilgrim with SureShot IS/Focus FLA5, 3rd Eye, Small Bore, and Hidden Hand. It's a long range roll and I LOVE it. Good Luck Guardian... and my RnGesus bless you with a roll you like.

Planet destiny has a solid video going over the perks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWqpGX3c7JY I'm rolling outlaw, braced frame, and headseeker. I'm debating going reactive reload instead of headseeker, I think that may be better.

Red dot Rodeo or outlaw Braced frame Head seeker Maxed stability and allows you to 2 burst your opponents it also matches the messenger just without solar void or arc damage I have them both use the messenger on my Hunter in the hopscotch pilgrim on my warlock it's the true perfect role
