Mgs5 is really not that great...
So i got my hands on it... and i dont see what the big deal is... im currently playing it and ive put in a good amount of hours..
Dont get me wrong, it is a decent game.. but im still trying to see why people are fascinated with this... and people are already daying game of the year......
Maybe im just not as easily entertained.. i dont know..

If you haven't played the other games they I can understand why this game isn't impressing you. But for those of us that have played this series since 1997 or whatever it was. This is the game we have been waiting for.

11 RepliesI played ground zeros for free with xbL gold loved it and got very angry at it but from the gameplay of phantom pain it doesn't look like a 10/10 like GTA V. If you have played it reason with me and tell me why it's a 10/10 game.

In the video game industry, Hideo Kojima is the equivalent of the prophet Mohammed in Saudi Arabia, it is considered blasphemy to criticise him and anyone who does so is instantly labelled an idiot. He was hardly even criticised for disguising a demo as a full-priced game with GZ.

1 ReplyIt's 1 part military porn, 1 part bizarre humor and 1 part supernatural bosses. Which frankly is kind of an odd mix. I definitely like it better than any other game in the "solid" series (I really enjoyed the NES releases). The kind of open world makes me feel a little like Far Cry, the gunplay is pretty decent and I love that you can go loud and not screw up a mission. That said, I've probably put in equal time in Mad Max, which I also really enjoy.

5 RepliesMetal gear has a smaller fan base that is very loyal and very loud, this makes the game sound like it is the best thing ever when on the internet. While i am not saying it is a bad game at all (and neither is the original author, at least i dont think so), it just may not be the most amazing game ever for the majority of people (the people who arent die hard fans).

I've been playing it for nearly 15 hours so far and it's great. Lots to do and actually feels worth the wait. As much as I loved playing destiny it's a very soulless experience in comparison.

It's the secrets that make them great, the stories within a story, like a souls game. They're not for everyone but if you get into it and invest the time it's worth it. And if you're playing this game without knowing what happened in previous MG's you will be lost

The only thing that gets me is that it doesn't really [i]feel[/i] like a metal gear game. Sure, many think MGS4 had too many long cutscenes, but the cutscenes, dialogue, and boss battles of the previous games are all such a core part of MGS. The cutscenes and dialogue help develop the characters and cause you to actually like them, and push the story forward in a more deliberate and calculated way. I loved messing around with the codec and seeing what people had to say. The boss battles of previous MGS games were some of the most interesting and memorable I have from any game, and I've only encountered one moment that I would call a boss battle. MGSV is a great stealth/action game with gameplay that feels awesome and tons of interesting mechanics to mess with such as weapon development and mother base. It is not, however, the pinnacle of MGS imo, because the game has lost so much of what makes a Metal Gear game. It doesn't hold your hand and actually respects your intelligence as well as expects it.

I mean, it's wonderful as a game But it's bad as a metal gear solid game Like, I was expecting different because it's MGS, but I wasn't expecting an abduction simulator with only 2 real "Bosses" throughout the entire game. Quiet and Saehalanthropous. Now the story is Definitely MGS worthy, but chapter 2 felt so rushed and I'm still a tad confused about certain things not being in chapter two that were in the preview but whatever.

2 RepliesIt's my first Metal Gear game. I'm enjoying it though cause it involves a lot a improv, if i make one mistake i can either go loud, escape, get backup, or hide then retry my normal approach but with Guards on high alert. I wouldn't say 10/10 but definitely atleast a 9. Still better than Witcher 3 if you ask me.

2 RepliesI had to save a prisoner that was getting transported in a jeep with a tank following, I left my horse in the road so they'd stop to honk and yell at it to move, while they stopped I creeped behind the tank, loaded it with c4, got to cover and blew it up. The guards then got out of the Jeep to inspect the tank, that's when I crawled to the jeep, jumped in and drove away with the prisoner without them ever seeing me. You get some badass war stories from this game to tell

15 hours in and hardly scraped the surface. Finding things like taking out communications early on helps missions later on. The more you dig,the more satisfying it becomes. Be patient,plan & then be patient again :)

This isn't to say the game is bad in any way, but the name matters, especially Kojima's. If you're not a big Metal Gear fan, then I can see why it's not as amazing as you've been hearing. Personally, I like giving the GOTY to new ips. This year's GOTY will be really tight.

Yeah, I have never been into the metal gear solid series and from what I've seen of it (including MGS5) it's not really my kind of game. I just find some sections really cringeworthy and the gameplay a bit dull. I'm not saying that other people shouldn't like it, I'm just stating my opinion
