Does Etheric Light have to be used up before TTK ?
I don't have any of the DLC's and I have these questions about some of the games resources :
Will my Etheric Lights be useless after TTK comes out ?
What about Exotic Shards from Xur ? Will they still be good to have going forward ?
What about Ascendant Energy/Shards ?

Ascendant shards will have the same use as now, to level up old gear and to trade for motes, exotic shards will also have the same use as now, to get the final upgrade on exotics old and new ttk exotics, but cant be used to ascend ecotics to the new light level, just to the 365 stat of house of wolves,etheric light on the other hand does not of yet have a trade, and will have no use in ttk, other than to upgrade weapons tohow stats (like now) but those gear will be bad in ttk, so etheric light will be useless.Make sure you are at max level before ttk release though as you start at the xp level of your current light level so you want to be lvl 34 to start at 34 in ttk, but thats there only use,wouldnt surprise me if the speaker gets a trade of etheric light for 5 motes or something though but that hasnt been confirmed though

Luke said there is no current plan for exchanging them. But they are going to look into it. So I suggest holding onto unused ones, which will be easier with the vault doubling in size.

They should make it where if you turn in 7 exotic shards you get a random exotic armor. For 10 exotic shards you can get an exotic weapon.

8 RepliesGood question, I doubt they will become completely useless, the raids will still be there and you'll still need the ascendant materials to upgrade those drops. I don't see exotic shards going anywhere. As for etheric light that's a tough call, I suppose it will still be useful on all year one gear but I'm not certain what changes bungie will make with it, if any.
