The idea that a person could feel so strongly about themselves identifying with the opposite gender that they actually try and legally change their gender to accommodate the way they feel and their lifestyle is a very slippery slope. Where does it cross the line? If a woman becomes a "man", and wants to be called a man, but yet can still be violated by other men, which could result in her getting pregnant, are we gonna be like "the first man ever to get pregnant" like a bunch of complete idiots? Or allow males who are "women" now, into a female sporting event, who are athletically gifted and clearly have an unfair advantage? Has being politically correct gone too far and the desire not to offend anyone making things worse? You can see how this could just turn into a cluster -blam!- and be a complete circus show. I personally feel that if someone wants to dress a certain way or identifies with the opposite gender, feel free, that's their life. However, we need to be realistic, there are limits. If they don't have a male reproductive organ, and weren't born a man, therefore in my eyes, they will never ever be a man in it's most basic form. Period. If we start changing the definition of what a man or woman is, we're screwed. I don't care how much hormones one may take, facial hair they may grow, or surgery they get, its not the same thing. No amount of convincing would change that. As much as they might feel trapped inside their body, those were cards they've been dealt in this life. It's unfortunate, and hopefully they can find peace. They should certainly be allowed to act how they want in public and their own homes, not insulted or put down, but to go into the other gender's restrooms, and the like? That's not right in my opinion. Thoughts?
