Is DLC A "Bad" Thing?

Annual Release

Ingame Currency MMO

In Destiny, we know about DLC. But wouldn't you rather keep funding a company, and let the story develop as your character develops over the years Destiny is said to last? That's way better than an annual release PvP FPS. Of course, it could all be free with an ingame currency you have to pay for to get new Sparrows, Ships, Ghosts, etc. Like most MMO's. What do you think is better?

  • Not all DLC is bad. It's very good when you pay $15-$40 for a sizable chunk of new playability into a game that perhaps you were getting a little bored with. It's bad when it's "give us $15 for this content that is so blatantly on disc it literally hurts your wallet. Your wallet will actually scream in horrendous anguish, but hey... content." It's abhorrent when it's paying $30 for 4 things, one of which is on disc content behind a pay wall, $5 for skin packs, $3 for emoticons, $5 for another skin pack that we could've included in the previous skin pack but this one has blue so make like Luke Smith and throw money at the screen already, and we know you bought the season pass but that doesn't include customization options (those are optional). Did you want your character to move? Asynchronous leg movement is optional. (RvB fans, you know where I'm going with that) People bitch about the DLC but Destiny is not the worst offender by any stretch, I'm looking at you Mortal Kombat X. And at least when you do by the DLC for Destiny it works, the day they release it. I still haven't played Tremor because somehow despite my purchase of the Kombat Pack and download of the character, plus day off update he's still greyed out.
