Surely, I can't be the only one who groans any time I see Omnigul as either the Nightfall or the Weekly Heroic? I seriously believe a simple health nerf would make the Omnigul strike so much more bearable. As it stands right now, it's the ONLY strike I never want to do.
Edit: I feel the need to clarify, since we're not all on the same page. The problem with Omnigul isn't difficulty, it's time. The nerf to Valus Ta'uric was welcomed because he used to be the slowest strike, by far. That's another one that's easy to solo, but it used to take well over an hour to do so. Even with a full fireteam, it used to take over half an hour, on average.
Now, Omnigul has taken that spot. Again, it's not that it's a hard strike: it's that it takes longer than other strikes to complete. The wave after wave of enemies gets old really quick, especially when you're trying to solo it. To make things worse, Omnigul is almost ALWAYS in one of the weekly spots. The reason I never want to do Omnigul is because it's such a slow strike, not because it's too hard to do.

I actually always hated this stike. But every time I complain theres a guy that chims in and says they love it. To each his own. I for one will always skip this strike until the end of time.

There is no acceptable strategy to beat her. i mean: Camping in the hallway all the time in a small room with boomers, wizards, thralls and omnigul.. how is the strategy in that? even gjally cant clear enough, sniping isnt an option, shotgun gets you only so far, fusion rifles are too slow to dps in this strike, Machine gun is alright. but thats it. every strike had some kind of mechanic, strategy or area that is more in your advantage. but @omnigul's lair it is very unclear what that is? i would love to see a full gameplay of that strike by the Bungie Developers and see how it is meant to be played (to be honest) dont get me wrong, i finished omnigul many times. but its always camping in that small corridor and jumping on rocks..

What the actual -blam!- went into that strike design. Let's just make a room where people will only leave for a split second to shoot rockets or grab ammo. Let's also make it so omnigul has a shield and shit in front of her so she's hard to shoot, let's also spawn shit tons of ads so omnigul can sit back and scream like she's getting -blam!-. That is the worst strike in the game hands down.
-
How about no
-
Then dont..........do.......it................ An easy half an hour strike for a chance at etheric light lawl or exotic is worth it imo. I've also skipped certain nightfalls with undesirable modifiers. Honestly this week's was fun for me, void damage hi word of crota you sexy thang just rekt. Did it twice it was so fun.
-
It's a tedious strike/Nightfall.
-
Really hoping this strike gets changed in TTK. The only strike i truly hate as you actually have to hide in the back room.
-
Its more due to the fact you can't get at her because you are trapt in the starting room by adds. If you could actually get open shots on her she dies rather easy.

Edited by k1sho-M5: 8/29/2015 6:44:09 AMWhy ya'll wanna make everything in this game easy. Get's (even more) boring with ur shitty ideas. The part at the end is great the way it is and yeah, it takes a little time.
-
I like the chaos at the end of the strike while trying to silence her screams...
-
-
No... You just need to know how to do it right... Put blinding bubble next to her and take her down quick with a shotgun while she is stunned.
-
Omnigal is my favorite strike.
-
What are u talking about? It's a joke..lol

Edited by RANGERsLTW375: 8/28/2015 1:26:07 AMNot slow at all unless there is no burn. With burns this is one of the quickest strikes. The first part you can super the entire time once your first man gets his then you just boost off each other. Second part with the ships is kinda slow but fun. Then you jump on your sparrow open the last door and fly past that whole wave straight into the room with omnigul. From here you all stand on the walkway she spawns on with shotguns of that weeks burn and you can kill her in less than 10 seconds. Super easy strike / nightfall. With no burn though I agree it's a pain.

Yes it's slow and boring

the only thing i think they should change is to triple the size of the boss room. sitting in a hallway slowly picking away at a boss is laaaaaaame. the titan is the only class that can get up close and personal. both striker and defender. stun grenades work on her. and drop her shield. arc shotgun, thunderlord and armamentarium ftw. or bubble on the platform. either makes the encounter more fun and intimate ;). i personally wait til i have both my grenades and super up to maximise my damage output while shes stunned or my bubble is up.
-
The only over powered thing is the lag. :)
-
The omnigul strike is really easy.
-
This strike is perfect right where it's at. Burns make it super fun too
-
I love the omnigul strike, burns or no burns, I love that feeling of being under constant attack in that hallway, it's one of the few strikes where you actually feel like you're working as a team.
-
Added some info to the first post since responses are all over the place. It might be quick this week because of burns, but I reiterate my point for the strike in-general: it takes a lot of time.
-
Really? She is so unbelievably easy, especially with void burn. You burn her down real quick with 3 truths, it's not even a contest. It's even faster than gjallarhorn on solar burn.
-
Just have someone put a bubble on her and unload the void shotguns. If you're good it should take 20 seconds max.
-
The boss room has way too many adds spawning so you have no time to damage her
