A sweaty is when two teams purposely match up against each other in pvp. It can be done by having the two players who live geographically closest host each fireteam. Then they hit search at the same time and by reading the evaluating, searching, etc, you can figure out when you've found the other team.
Sweaties are generally used by players to set up more competitive games. There are a set of established sweaty rules put together by the competitive side of the community. Personally my friends, clan mates and I have just been sticking to the no exotic armour rule for now but will be looking to try the full set of sweaty rule set up soon.
I've recently tried and fallen in love with running sweats. It's such a different game and if you're good at public pvp games, it's really the only way to get even better. Against other skilled players, there's zero room for error, strategy and communication is so important, and proper map positioning is a must.
Who else has set up a sweaty? Just curious to see what the read is on the forum side of things....
Edit
If anyone has any questions about it, I'm by no means an expert (actually a shweat newbie) but I'll do my best to answer if you reply below

WTFisSWEATY?
-
No I don't surround myself with nerds That's not my thing.
-

-

I haven't played these type of matches since CoD 4. Was all good fun playing S&D! But with age the eyes and hands don't respond as quickly anymore :(
-
Scrimmage. Not sweaty
-
If we had -blam!-ing private lobbies that would be great. I want to set up a game with my friends where only rockets are aloud.
which means it's a melee battle until heavy comes, think about the fight for heavy xD
And then I want to set up a control match where only snipers are aloud. And then lastly I want to set up a match where no exotic's and no supers are aloud. That would definitely increase the life of Destiny for me

Edited by Bard Habits: 8/26/2015 8:11:40 AMI do this quite a lot, it's the closest thing to custom games, great fun for ultra competitive games or even screwing about with No Land Beyonds.
-
I figured it was just fat nerds sweating. I learn something everyday.
-
Do this with elimination but keep everyone in the same party Hahah you can never say where you are!
-
It sounds like the name of a bathhouse for gay men to meet and fornicate.
-
Aids lol
-
See we used to call this Q syncing which imo is a far better name... Honstely the competive gaming communty really needs to work on their image heh
-
CGs not "sweaties"
-
I like to call them skrims (or GBs) as that is what they are called in literally every other game. The term "sweaty" just sounds gross and dumb to me. But, yes. I've done it a bit, not much.

Edited by Urban Shade: 8/26/2015 8:13:20 AMWish they simply had custom games.

'couldn't have picked a worse name for a competitive fps activity

Me and a couple of friends went into Doubles a couple of times. Made a different rule for each game. One was no exotics the other was no abilities (This included double jump of any kind) another was auto-rifles only then it was melee only and of course No Land Beyond only.

PLEASE add Swagucci (X1) for sweats. I wanna become a better player. I feel capped atm.
-
Everyday man. I've been restricted to playing against the same guys for a while and I kinda wanna branch out and play against more people.
-
I played with your mom and she was sweaty AF. Does that count?
