Fellow guardians, this may be the dawn of a new era for faction guardians, with the fast approach of Year Two...
As you may know, Bungie announced that they will be scrapping the Light Level system and returning to standard leveling to the new cap of Level 40. They are doing this because they "didn't want players' level to be determined by [random number generation] things out of their control."
This may mean that there could be some serious changes in the works in regards to everyone's favorite factions. So many guardians have suffered the seemingly endless grind for faction rank, only to be rewarded with lackluster rewards, and not the things every faction guardian craves (shaders, gear, ships, etc.)
It may be possible that, because Bungie is attempting to gear their rewards towards equal reward for the work you put in, things such as shaders, armor, and weapons may no longer be dependant upon packages, but may be available for purchase at higher level. It may no longer even require guardians to use crucible marks for purchases (even though that is a stretch...)
Anyways, I know that this may be the end of the suffering for guardians who are slaves to the grind, but it agreeably sounds like only a distant fever dream. Release your hatred towards the faction representatives in the comments below, and tell me what you think of this/hope for in terms of factions. Walk in the Light.
