So here is what we are looking at for TTK

Let me preface this by saying I'm here as a fan of the Destiny universe but a skeptic of the product, and I feel this to be where most of you are at. So here is what we know about TTK and how I feel about it. -Eight story missions (compared to base game's 20) -Quests/Bounty Chains (this will have to make the bulk of the content) -One Raid, King's Fall (advertised as a return to proper raid making) -Three plus One ps exclusive strikes (compared to base game's 5+1, with at least 1 of the 4 reusing old areas) -Eight Crucible maps (Compared to base games 10+1) -One Patrol mission (Base has 4) -Lots of gear and stuff That is the pure value, but keep in mind they are trying to say each piece is 'better' than previous ones. Not to mention actual cutscenes and reworks for what appears to be for the better. So Destiny is $60 and TTK is $40 (or scales for those who lack as much freedom or inflated dollar. Such as Britain paying ~ $67). So that puts TTK at 66% of the base games content. Lets add it up. EDIT: Keep in mind this math is on unplayed, upcoming content. Don't take these numbers to heart, but just consider what the content listed is valued to you (for example, Crucible means nothing to a PvE player, but Raids may mean a lot. So a good raid with bad crucible would be much more favourable to a PvE player).
Story + Raid + Strikes + Crucible Maps + Patrol. ("Old style content") 22/42. Thats pretty much half of the content. Which means for it to be "of value" then the new reworks and innovations must account for ~17% of your reason to choose TTK instead of a different $60 release (because lets face it, that is how this plays out. Math is based on the content being half- $30- and the total cost being $40). EDIT: So here is another way to think about it:
TTK has about half of Destiny's content in old forms (strikes, raids, story). It also adds quests and reworks. If you paid $60 for Destiny, then you are saying that the $30 for old forms of TTK content is worth it. So that means that the new stuff must comprise 25% of TTK's worth (the remaining 10 of the 40 price).

25% of the 40 price, 17% if you compare it to other games of 60. If your indecision is monetary- 25% of new content must be worth it. If your indecision is about time spent like me- 17%.
So thats what is comes down to. Is it worth it to you as of this moment? I really want it to be, but they make it awfully hard given a lot of recent events. Right now I'm waiting on reviews and not pre-ordering, but please discuss why you are/are not getting TTK and I will be happy to banter both sides. Upcoming "New" Stuff: -Patrol and its Puzzles: This was made in response to the Vault of Glass's popularity with hunting elusive secret chests. This thirst for secrets is what they had in mind when creating it. They are also adding Public Event "Bosses" to be found in Patrol. If they do this well, it would be a great addition to the game. The question is longevity. Will Patrol be a fun thing to do when every puzzle ends up being a google click away? Will it be a place I want to return to?
