Cowboy Bebop (not seeing a lot of recommendations for this..) Samurai Champloo Space Dandy Redline Trigun Darker than Black Hellsing Hellsing Ultimate (more true to the manga) Baccano Neon Genesis Evangelion Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Kill La Kill Ghost in the Shell (original movie) Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (including 2nd GIG) Black Lagoon Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail Michiko to Hatchin Jormungand Steins;Gate Shingeki no Kyojin for those beautiful visuals Mirai Nikki Akame ga Kill Ao no Exorcist Parasyte: The Maxim Noragami I would recommend FMA as well, but 1) I still haven't seen it and 2) it's on a lot of lists already.

1 Replyok too many people who apparently know little to nothing about Anime only what is very recent. First off Cowboy Bepop should be the top of your list...arguable the best anime series. After that take your pick of Trigun, SAO, Deathnote,....and so many others that have been mentioned. Also don't forget Rorouni Kenshin up to the Shishio arc. After that it just drags.
