Nerfing BLACK HAMMER, ICEBREAKER, and G-HORN instead of Nerfing BOSSES

I don't really get it for what Bungie is doing in PVE, your balancing weapons in PVP I get that certain weapons are just a tad bit OP Hawkmoon, Last Word, and Thorn are arguably the most annoying guns in Crucible. However two weapons are getting nerfed in PVE Black Hammer, Icebreaker, and Gjhallerhorn specifically it's wolfpack rounds, how much I have no idea. Well Bungie if you nerf the Gally's damage too much I hope you nerf the strike, raid, and POE bosses as well otherwise your going to get a lot people complaining that shit is getting to hard to fast. G-Horn insane damage output is what people want so the Bosses you have aren't so damned overwhelming, if someone can give an estimate on the average life bar but here's what I got doing Omnigul Nightfall a week ago, with all three burns active needed four shots from G-horn on my part to down the skank, same with my fireteam, that's a total of 12 rockets total, triple or quad that without the burns. That should tell you something, G-horn is probably the single most damage dealing weapon against bosses in the game, and it takes on average upwards to 36 rockets wolfpack rounds included on a boss, and you want to nerf it, you want to nerf Black Hammer's White Nail perk, and nerfing Icebreaker's recharge rate for ammo. Uh, why these are the only weapons that give players an edge against the multiple bullet sponge bosses. So why don't you nerf the f---ing bosses by 64% instead of nerfing the weapons that would normal make a two hour plus long fight drop to 45 minutes or did I just answer my own question. Just saying. If anyone agrees send a like, and if anyone disagrees just ignore my rant.

    • The bungie way is the bullet sponge. If there are weapons that circumvent the need to plink away at something for 20 minutes, then the never ending enemies that appear from no-place wont be able to distract you. If you just kill a bad guy, there's no reason to be there to be forced to stand in a circle in the middle of a room while everything with a gun fires at you. It's how they take a 25 minute event like POE and turn it into a 90 minute grind. Otherwise they'd be advertising a game with 4 hours of gameplay.

      • Bungie doesn't like people relying on the same weapon for everything. They believe they are convincing us to vary our weapons by making the weapons we want to use less compelling. Just like when they die to convince us to use pulse rifles with nerf 1.0. Which admittedly did work a little bit (I still dislike them)

      • Here's the deal. Bungie has difficulty setting up fun pve encounters due to teams min/maxing with certain powerful combinations. The boss has to be powerful enough to give three Gallys or blackhammers a challenge. That means the boss is too powerful for anything else to beat in a reasonable amount of time. By reducing these weapons damage output, they can rebalance bosses and make new ones that can be dealt with by other combos. I don't like it losing my icebreaker security blanket, but it may improve destiny overall

        • I think it should probably be nerf bosses as well, as opposed to just nerfing weapons. Bullet sponge bosses are no fun. People saying it would be too easy just have too much time on their hands. There's nothing enjoyable about doing the same action over an over. If they do nerf bosses, then I can see the justification of bringing down some of these heavy hitting weapons - but that wasn't in their announcement, so I fear this game is going to just turn into a boring sponge fest

        • Why would they need the bosses that dosnt make sense than they'd just be easier to kill if anything buff the bosses make them harder and more complex so people like you can't sit it the back of the map itch there ass and wait for the ice breaker shots to regen

I'm not too mad. I may finally get a challenge. But they're going about the G-horn nerf the wrong way. They should decrease the number of wolfpack rounds by 2 or 3 instead of reducing the initial damage.

        • This is hyperbole, I do not for a second believe that the bosses are difficult, time consuming? Sure, but not nearly 45 minutes. Playing smart in the Nightfall Strike our fireteam cleared Omnigul in about 25 minutes without Ghorns, we had some normal rockets and LMG's. If you are playing this game to get out of the match as quickly as possible, I suggest taking a break. I know I will be once I'm 34, I've only been playing since I started again last week. In two weeks, and less than 3 days, I'm nearly max level with a lot of Legendaries and a few exotics. This game isn't hard to get gear, or run Nightfalls, not nearly as hard as it was when it first came out. The game has improved, and to continue improving, with new boss designs moving away from bullet sponges,(hopefully) these weapons will get in the way of that design decision. Ghorn will still do the most damage of any rocket launcher, I believe they are nerfing Wolfpack rounds by 20%, which isn't bad at all. Using rockets to kill bosses insanely fast isn't how the game is meant to be played, if you cause yourself to be reliant on this crutch, you will be in the same place as all the Thorners and find the game much harder than before.

        • I still play the game because I don't have a g horn yet. The thought of that unbelievable damage to bosses is what gets me doing everything I can to have a chance at one. If they nerf it too much there is no point in me getting it. Making me less likely to play the game at all.

nerf that huge paragraph next time.... :) Just so you don't think I am troll. I suggest you make it easier to read by separating it into smaller paragraphs. Then I will read it.

          • Your argument is completely ignorant, and I'll tell you why. You think the logical solution on Bungie's part would be to nerf bosses rather than weapons to fix the problem of a fast TimeToKill on bosses? You realize they nerfed the weapons so that it would take longer to kill any particular boss instead of a 30 second TTK, if the fireteam all had gjallarhorn for example. So why would it make sense to you that instead of nerfing weapons, they nerf bosses? TTK for bosses would be even shorter in that scenario, and therefore make the problem more drastic.... Instead you should propose that bosses get a BUFF, so they have more health and therefore will take less damage. In this instance, TTK would increase, Bungie will be happy, and your precious weapons won't be touched. Just an idea that makes a little more... Sense.

            • Stop asking things be made easyer on you and just take the tiny time extra to kill the boss.

            • Nerfing bosses would make those 3 even more OP. The next set of bosses just need mechanics to not allow for anti-bullet sponge tactics.
