Machine guns are never talked about in any of the updates but since we are nerfing gjallarhorn, ice breaker, and black hammer, the most popular pve boss killers, I feel this is the appropriate time to mention a buff for machine guns only in pve. So many guardians were excited when Xur finally sold thunderlord but more than likely they'd rather use rocket launchers in pve than machine guns. I've had Thunderlord and SGA since vanilla Destiny and I'd rather use a legendary rocket launcher. To adequately balance the heavy weapons, machine guns should be given a buff. Who uses machine guns while fighting crota???? SGA maybe for the oversoul but mostly everyone wants rocket launchers for crotas shield.. Atheon is good for machine guns in that you won't blow yourself up and atheon won't move around but he's still a bullet sponge for machine guns. A small buff like those being given to the scout rifles for pve would be great!!! Also possibly a base stability buff for all machine guns.

Machine Guns blow rocket launchers out of the water in PVE.. they just aren't safe enough to use consistently. Rocket Launchers offer you the ability to take cover, shoot, take cover again. MGs on the other hand force you to stand in the line of fire ot deal damage AND require you to hit some precision shots to really make them shine. Do they need a buff? NO. Instead, we need more opportunities to use MGs and not get instantly killed. Gjallarhorn, widely considered the best PVE heavy, does a fixed amount of damage with each rocket. In the time it takes to fire that rocket and reload another one, a good machine gun will have done almost double the damage. Take Thunderlord as an example: It deals somewhere between 1.2 and 1.5k damage to bosses when you hit them in their critical spot. You can fire off about 12-15 shots in the time it takes to fire a rocket and reload. You are talking 14,400 to 22,500 damage from Thunderlord in that same time frame. Gjallarhorn does just over 8k damage without burns as long as the levels of you and your enemy are correct. Thunderlord has the potential to do almost 3x the damage of Gjallarhorn. Machine Guns do not need a buff, we need better content so we can actually use Machine Guns.
