There are a few things that I like about Xbox One, mainly that it has Halo and the circle that lights up looks kind of cool but, get ready for a rant. [b]Controller[/b] I didn't hate the Xbox One controller, but there doesn't seem anything to like about it either. Oh yea it did randomly turn off yesterday. Which doesn't happen with DS4 controller ever. The fact that it still uses batteries. Instead of being charged. So considering Playstation had chargeable controllers already for so long, Microsoft still uses batteries. Bummer. The analog thumb buttons hurt my thumb if played for a long time in games like Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls on Xbox One. On PS4, i have the same game and never had that issue. So for long gaming sessions, I would not recommend this controller. It looks like a toy and kind of reminds of the N64 controller of old. But the thing that kind of upsets me even more is that it doesn't even have a stereo jack. Microsoft couldn't add this into the controller? Was that too high tech that you have to buy an adapter to use heaphones? I have tiny mp3 players with headphone jack. Was this so hard to build into this controller? I am scratching my head. You have to buy a stereo jack if you want to use regular basic headphones. I am a big fan of Halo, so if it wasn't for that, I would stay away from Xbox. [b]Power supply:[/b] PS4 manages to put the power supply inside and takes up less room, and is lighter. The Xbox 1 on the the other hand decided to put power supply outside. So not only do you have to find a place for your console, you have to now make sure your power supply brick sits in an area that it won't overheat, because this thing is huge and overheats even when doing simple things like downloading games. I learned that first day I played on Xbox one. Don't put the brick next to your console. Because it will overheat, and it may cause your console to crash and burn. Shit. Maybe they should have put a warning on it. Hell maybe they should have designed it so that the brick wouldn't be outside the console, because the thing is already big as is, and looks like an old VCR. So just think about that PS4 is actually smaller, lighter, has a better and more comfortable controller. AND it is more powerful graphically. How does that even make sense. But yes it is true. [b]Gaming performance:[/b] GPU: PS4’s GPU is — on paper — 50% more powerful than the Xbox One [b]Graphics in games[/b] It's a trend we're seeing from PS4 games that achieve a 1080p resolution at 30 or 60 frames per second when their Xbox One counterparts run at 720p or 900p at 30 or 60fps. [b]Operating System - GUI and Store[/b] And before people were saying that Playstation Graphical User interface sucks, and Operating system on PS4 is garbage. They were saying that for years. But after trying out both software. It is the same shit. Neither is better it is just different. ;/ Guys there really is no difference between Sony store, and Microsoft Store. You get the same apps, Netflix, Hulu Plus, 1 Click Sharing, Etc. You also get free games on both system every month. So in this category there is no difference guys. People will say Playstation sucks because of software, but here they are wrong, its the same damn thing. And if you ask me, Sony's Graphical user interface is actually more visually appealing. I am not a huge fan of Windows 8 and preferred Windows 7 anyways. So forcing me to use Windows 8 or 10 or whatever they are calling it now is Meh. PS4 lets you have Dynamic Themes in the background which don't degrade performance and look beautiful. Oh and PSN is $50 a year, and Xbone Gold is $60. So $10 is for what? [b]Lets get into Settings[/b] I haven't explored this that much. But overall Sony's Settings are easier to use. Microsoft has a bunch of useless settings, but I couldn't find a way to adjust volume with headphones plugged in to the controller itself so ended up just muting the TV. [b]Overall verdict:[/b] I think this iteration of the Console is a step back, both in form and function. It almost feels like Microsoft tried to rush this thing to Market but failed miserably. Not to mention all the DRM shit they wanted to put in, with forced Kinect at launch and then changing their minds last minute. But that DRM shit is almost always something Microsoft tries to push every 10 years or so. They tried that shit back in the day with Windows Media Player, and people just ended up not using. Same thing with this Xbox. If there was no such thing as Halo, then Microsoft would be in Big trouble now. But Halo 5 just looks amazing, so I am willing to put up with all that just to play it. But if you aren't a big Halo fan, and don't play Kinect, there is only one clear choice for Console this time around. [b] Personal Thoughts[/b] I have both PS4 and Xbox One and overall I like PS4 a lot more for many reasons. The main reason is because of the design. PS4 feels like next gen hardware, (I know PC players will say PC is actually Next gen - I have a good PC but I still love the PS4 - it is just an awesome system, Sony nailed it) both the console and controller look modern and cool, and controller just feels right in your hand. [b]More Ranting:[/b] Apple/Samsung and Sony are making things smaller, while Microsoft is making them bigger. If you just look at the box for the console itself, you can see how much bigger the Xbone is. We all know that Microsoft lost the Console war, this is old news. But I just wanted to remind people the main reasons why. Lets not even get into the whole thing about 1080p vs 720p thing. Lets not even get into Kinect, because I didn't buy it with Kinect so I cannot judge it, but I heard it was waste of money.
