If there was a procedure that would make u immortal but it had only 50/50 success rate and failing will leave u dead would u take the procedure ? Please take the poll and leave your reasons below

Well, if you want a new life it would be good because you could keep starting over easily but if you died you'd have nothing to worry about anymore, so it's really a win win

There are some good books about age and immortality. As time goes on the world advances but there is a limit to how much we can adapt to. Let's look at a person. Born in 30-40s right after or during the war in a small town in the middle of nowhere. The war taught them to not waste and gave them a sense that the U.S. was good. Well now they see gay marriage legalized, Isis, the nsa spying on citizens. Now to a middle aged person this is not that bad but because of the amount of adaptation older generations have to go through this all seems radical and they think(with maybe some FOX news mixed in) the world is going to hell.

2 RepliesNot sure I like the idea of immortality. It would be fun for a few years, maybe a few hundred. Once you've watched everyone you know, grand kids included, all suffer and die and it dawned on you will outlive everything .... the appeal will wear off. Sooner or later you'd start to go insane. You really would be forever alone. After a few thousand years you'd be in hiding because anyone alive would want that secret and, because you're immortal, they could chop you up and you'd live through it. Even if they didn't find you, one day you'd outlive the Earth and when it's burned up by the sun you'd be left floating in space going even more bat shit insane while you wait for something, anything to happen. I'd rather just live my life and then fade away.
