A Final Farewell + Final Rant
After much debate and thinking, I have officially retired from Destiny. There are just too many problems with the game that make it unplayable/boring:
- weapon balancing is horrific
- PVP is a wild mess. From the overpowered hand cannons to the horrible lag to the lag switchers.
- crota still has multiple problems
- RNG. It breaks the game because everything is based off luck
- every single one of the prison of elders weapons is lackluster and easily outclassed
- Bungie focuses more on PVP than anything else
But the worst thing of all is....THE REPETITIVE CONTENT
Let's not forget the horrible marketing and the $40 price of TTK
I know what's coming: the haters. So go ahead and look, I have two 34's, one 33 (who I can easily make 34 but I dont), have a high KD in crucible and every exotic in the game. What is there for me to accomplish?
Nothing. It's boring. It's time to move on. So i say farewell to you guardians, best of luck to those who stay and to those who are also leaving, I'll see you on the other side

Can't really argue with your decision.... For a collector there's just not enough vault space. The PoE weapons are ugly and totally useless (my LMG has shank burn, YEAH!!!!), the Queens weapons are only nice if you dig the color. Rerolling is nice, but the fact that every friggin gun has the ability to be rerolled has taken all excitement out of getting loot (oh, a shotgun, doesn't matter...because I have a perfect one...) So, my main pasttime the last weeks is PvP and besides a few inbreeds here on Bnet, everyone agrees that it's a laggy, totally unbalanced mess.... and Bungie is awfully silent about those issues...

I agree. This last IB was awful. It was the most lag I have seen so far in Destiny. I just cannot believe that in 2015 and with as much money Bungie has raked in that they do not have dedicated servers. Absolutely unforgivable on top of all the other current bullshit. And not a peep out of Bungie on what Bungie will do to fix any of the current problems. They are in full TTK hype mode. Fuking terrible.

7 RepliesI'm right there with ya. I've logged on once since Arkham Knight and Planetside 2 came out and it was to see the IB gear. When I saw it was the same friggin perks over and over I said "I'm done." I can't keep grinding like this anymore.

I have 3 characters at level 34 with almost full IB gear (I'll be back for the helmets) I have most of the exotics on offer including the 'big 3' (gjallarhorn, Icebreaker and Red Death). Yes at this point there is little else for me to do, but this game has kept me interested for 9 months (with a few breaks here and there) for a price of £70 - I got the edition that came with the 2 dlc packages. Last time I looked at my hours played this amounted to 23p per hour (it'll be less now). All things considered Destiny, in my opinion, has been great value for money. Rather than goodbye I like to think of it as a fond farewell. I daresay I will be back for TTK in a couple of months.

1 ReplySame here...slowly letting go but still get excited helping those that need to get something. Sad day today when help someone with raid only for me to break down another g horn someone needed. I just wish as a final parting gift I could give my earned/luck guns to those who should get them. I don't really need the stuff and I'm so sick and tired of people thinking it takes skill to get them. Some of the best players out there that are highly skilled get nothing. I hate so called random drops unless you want to cheat your way to something else random. Oh well that's my rant. Good luck to you all and I truly me good luck hope you all do well.

This whole game sucks. I had it downloaded on my ps4 and I just deleted the entire game. The community as a whole sucks and I hope that the taken King is such a disappointment that every person playing this game never wants to even load it up ever again.

1 ReplyI too had this train of thought this week. Today/tonight will be the 1st reset night I will not be on. I have had endless hours on it, but I took a step back and asked myself when was the last time you enjoyed it. I couldn't even think. Just did it to 100% it week after week trying to get the exotics I was missing. Not actually enjoying it at all. So I to will be taking either a very extensive or permanent break from this and certainly not paying $70 AUD on TTK...
