Beginner's Guide to Vault of Glass 3

Part 1: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/120778420 Part 2: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/120783642 5. Gorgon's Labyrinth: Simple yet difficult. After making your way down some treacherous pitfalls you'll come upon the Gorgon's Labyrinth, obviously filled with Gorgons patrolling it's floor. You'll have to maneuver through to the exit on the other side dodging the Gorgon's sight and avoiding sprinting as that makes too much noise. You'll want to move as a group so no one gets lost. There are some spots where you can safely sprint, but do so only under the discretion of a leader who knows the way. Make it through safely and you'll find the jump puzzle. 6. Jump Puzzle: Not so much a true puzzle as just a simple test of platforming skill, but colloquial names are hard to shake off. Platforms will appear and disappear in sequence, make it to the other side. Once all 6 players have made it the door to Atheon's chamber will open, but before you can actually face him you'll have to get past the Gatekeepers. 7. Gatekeepers: Upon entering the room you'll find a multitude of things to be aware of. Immediately in front of you is a lonely platform surrounded by deadly pitfalls. To the left and right of this platform sit a left and right Vex gate. Forward, beyond the platform awaits the first Gatekeeper with Vex siting along the stairs behind him. Precursors and Descendants litter the areas to the left and right, tougher than normal Vex you'll want to take them out quickly. Killing the first Gatekeeper initiates the next stage of this encounter. Now that the Gatekeeper is dead you can use the sync plates to activate the left and right Vex gates. Doing so will prompt waves of enemies to spawn including Praetorians looking to take their sync plates back. Entering the Vex gate on the left will take you to a reddish, barren version of Atheon's chamber, this is often refereed to as Mars. Entering the Vex gate on the right will take you to a greenish, forested version of Atheon's chamber often refereed to as Venus. Within both gates you will find the second and third Gatekeepers along with a flurry of other Vex. Killing a Gatekeeper in this stage will cause a shield relic to spawn at the top of the stairs of that Gatekeepers room (kill Gatekeeper in Mars and a relic will spawn in Mars). While you are inside either Mars or Venus you will be marked by the void, however this mark works differently then before. Instead of signifying your eventual death marked by the void now causes your screen to slowly but gradually fade to black. As before the relic's bubble is the only way to cleanse this, however the cleanse is not permanent if you are still inside Mars or Venus as marked by the void will just get reapplied and start over. Once you leave either Vex gate and return to the main chamber you can cleanse the mark away for good, assuming you don't go back into the Vex gate again. Your objective is to get both relics out of their respective Vex gates, that's two relics at the same time. You can either focus on one gate at a time, or do them both at the same time, but beware, as soon as the first relic is removed from it's Vex gate a conflux will spawn in the middle of the room and waves of Minotaurs will begin to spawn at the top of the stairs and walk towards it. Remember that, until the encounter is finished, someone must be holding each relic or the team will wipe. No, you cannot hold both relics at the same time, this encounter requires 2 relic holders. Once both relics are out more Minotaurs will start spawning by each of the Vex gates and you'll have 3 separate streams of Minotaurs to keep off the conflux. Keep the conflux clear long enough and hang onto both relics and the encounter will be finished. You may now begin your final battle with Atheon. 8. Atheon Time's Conflux: This is it, the final battle. Atheon will spawn from his glass throne at the top of the stairs. Currently, you will not be able to damage him. Eventually you will get a message on your screen "Atheon opens the time stream." At this moment 3 players, chosen at random, will be teleported to the top of the stairs of either Mars or Venus (they will not be split up, all 3 will either go to one or the other) I will call them the "IN team." I will call the players left behind the "OUT team." The IN teams job is to have 1 player grab the relic (quickly as the 5 second timer starts as soon as you get teleported) that spawns right where the IN team is placed, kill red Oracles that spawn in their area, and, after all the Oracles have been killed, exit through the open Vex gate on the other side. The relic holder will need to periodically cleanse himself and the other two players so no one goes blind so it's best if all 3 stick close to each other as much as possible. The other two players will be on Oracle killing duty, every Oracle must be killed quickly otherwise the whole team will succumb to the Oracles and wipe. The red Oracles will spawn in a sequence starting from directly above the top stair to the last 2 being right above the open Vex gate. Now that you don't have to worry about saving the relic super for the Templar's shield the strong white energy bolt can be used to help the Oracle killers as it can 1-shot an Oracle, this can be used to greatly help pick up any slack. Once the Oracles are dead everyone should leave together. If the IN team is sent to Mars, there will be 3 Hobgoblins waiting at the bottom of the stairs. If the IN team is sent to Venus there will be 2 Goblins and a Minotaur. In both cases the relic holder can make short work of these nuisances by making use of the smack down ability (jump then right trigger while in mid-air). The relic holder needs to be quick about dispatching these foes so as to return to their teammates and cleanse them, but don't be reckless, if the relic is dropped it could spell doom for the whole team. The OUT teams job is to open and keep open the Vex gate that connects to the area (Mars or Venus) that the IN team has gotten teleported to. While it is nice for the IN team to notify (via microphone) the OUT team of which area they have been sent to, it is not strictly necessary. You can see the IN teams points on the radar. Since they are out of range they appear as arrows on the outer ring of the radar, these arrows will point in the general direction of the Vex gate the OUT team needs to open. The OUT team won't have to worry about any Praetorians trying to take the sync plate back nor will they have to worry about Atheon, he will be frozen for now. The only enemies the OUT team needs to watch out for are Supplicants. Supplicants spawn in groups of 3 right beneath Atheon and will fly, as a group, either to the right or left sync plate. Their greatest danger is their ability to self-destruct, but be wary of Supplicants on the opposite side of the room as well, they still have guns. The OUT team must get the gate open in time because, even if the IN team kills all the Oracles quickly enough, if they stay inside for too long they will die, thus causing the relic holder to drop the relic, thus starting the 5 second countdown till wipe, it's basically a guaranteed fail. Once the IN team has returned to the main chamber a sequence called Time's Vengeance begins. During this all Guardian weapons (not abilities) deal additional damage while Supers, grenades, and melee abilities recharge almost instantly, and Atheon is un-frozen and attacking the players as are any surviving Supplicants. The relic holder must still continue to hold the relic, however now with all abilities recharging so fast the relic holder can hold the cleanse bubble open indefinitely until Time's Vengeance ends. Remember that enemies can't shoot through this bubble, but players can. This is your chance to damage Atheon, as with most Vex his weak point is the white spot in his belly. When Time's Vengeance ends the relic will despawn, Atheon will open the time stream again, randomly selecting 3 players again and the whole thing starts over again. Rinse and repeat until Atheon is no more. Congratulations Guardian, you pilfered the secrets of the mysterious Vault of Glass!
