So while playing Iron Banner last night I came across a pretty nice dude and his girlfriend. Both of them were in game chat attempting to communicate with the team. At first I didn't want to respond to them because I hate it when randoms you meet turn into people you hate. But that wasn't the case so praise the man upstairs. Anyways, I decided to talk to them and played the match through and won. The three of us decided to squad up and played for an hour. After that I told them it was nice meeting them because it was time for me to go. The fellow greeted me with a thanks and offered me a redbull code. At first I denied him because I knew how much a redbull was ($2.50 or something) and I told him to save it for himself. Thats when he laughed and said that it was not a problem because he has 100 codes and have been sharing it with nice people he met online. At first I was like “you bought 100 cans” and he said no. He only bought one can to put on a shelf of destiny memorabilia and computer generated 100 codes. 100 codes! His girlfriend claimed that he put 50 codes into her account as a b-day gift. Wtf? I asked him about other people buying legit cans. He claims that they still get codes through a verification process so they won’t be left out. He told me that he had a lot of friends in Europe and plans to give them codes too. He also claims that all these youtube giveaways and twitter giveaways are shameful ways of self promotion so his master plan is to provide free codes to everyone. I was shocked but Im also a college kid on a budget. I accepted a code (just one) and bid them farewell. If we do the math. 100 x $2.50 = $250. So this guy just got $250 worth of consumables for free and he plans to make more and let it rain free codes. For his safety I won't give out his gamertag. Is this guy doing the right thing? Comment your thoughts.

  • You asked two questions so which one are people voting on? My opinion is that it's shitty to do that. If someone buys a can they shouldn't have to deal with RedBull customer service just to redeem what they bought because and Internet brat stole it. If he was doing something that only hurt RedBull or Bungie I wouldn't care about his stealing, but it's not. It's stealing from other people and making them go through the hassle of proving they bought one. I keep hearing that RedBull and Bungie are stupid for making it so simple, and even though that may be the case since when is that an excuse to steal from other people? Just because you can steal something doesn't mean you should. And if there are consequences at some point they will be the first ones crying about it. It's called integrity and if you don't have it I feel sorry for you.
