Seems like many forgot the basics in IB. So many more...
Location, location, location…not just a real estate tenet. Location is one of the primary strategic considerations in any battle, be it Gettysburg or Shores of Time.
Shores of Time and Blind Watch:
Due to the location of A, far away from the other zones, it makes controlling multiple zones difficult (multiple zones give you a bonus on kills). Each time you die, you spawn near the zone you control. If you capture A, you will have to spend 3x as long to reach B or C.
GENERAL:
Spawns:
On all maps there are two main spawns, one by A and one by C. CORRECTION TO PREVIOUS STATEMENT: spawn locations after death are influenced by the location of other players on the map. If you have more players for longer in a spawn zone than the enemy, you will tend to spawn in that zone. (thanks to JayKoBlanko for the correction)
Spawn flipping:
Alternately capturing A & C. Beware of enemies spawning behind or adjacent to you when this occurs. It can be exploited if you are prepared and cover the spawn areas.
Scoring:
Extra points per kill:
Control 1 zone: 50
Control 2 zones: 100
Control 3 zones: 200
Zone kills: 25 (kill while capturing zone or being near one of your zones)
Delayed gratification:
While the lure of extra points from capturing all 3 zones is strong, unless the other team is very weak, it is nearly impossible to hold 3 for long. On Shores and Blind capturing A draws friendly players off the other two zones, often resulting in a spawn flip.
Disclaimer: this list is drawn from experience playing Crucible with randoms. As individual skill level and size of fireteam rises, the value of this post falls…ergo, I know that elite players don’t need any guidance from someone who sucks as much as I do and that I should stop whining and “git gud” or quit.

Meanwhile, a nova bomb kills your entire team at the C heavy ammo spawn due to lack of cover...
