I've come up with a new Crucible mode called Taken. Oryx has invaded the Crucible and is taking Guardians to join his army. How will your Light fair? The mode will consist of 12 Guardians and two teams; The Taken and The Light. When players spawn in, they will all be part of The Light. There will be a timer counting down from ten; this will give players ten seconds to find a spot to hide or resist from. When the timer reaches 0 a message will appear: "Oryx has taken a Guardian.". One randomly selected Guardian will join The Taken team. The Taken Guardian will appear on the radar just like any other enemy and will take on the blackish/blue appearance of a Taken enemy. The match will have a time limit. If players on The Light manage to survive long enough so as the match reaches the time limit, The Light team wins. If The Taken kill all players on The Light within the time limit, The Taken team wins. After 60 seconds, if the original Taken Guardian has not killed anyone, another Guardian from The Light will be randomly selected to join The Taken team in order to help. When players on The Taken team spawn, they will take on a random Taken enemy. For example, when the message "Oryx has taken a Guardian." appears, the Taken Guardian may transform into a Taken Psion. The Guardian will also wield the Taken enemy's weapon and abilities. So, lets take the Taken Psion, for example. When a Guardian is taken and transformed into a Taken Psion, they carry the Slug Rifle as their weapon. Each time a Taken Guardian dies and respawns, they will take on a new and random Taken enemy. If the Taken Guardian kills another player on The Light, they join The Taken team, and they too will take on the form of a random Taken enemy. While all of this is happening, the Taken Guardian's Super is charging. Just like in a regular match, the Super charges and carries through death; this is what will happen in Taken. However, your Super ability will change depending on which Taken enemy you are. Again, I'm using the Taken Psion as an example. In the trailer for The Taken King we saw a Taken Psion split in two, forming two Taken Psions. As a Taken Psion, the Taken Guardian's Super ability will be to multiple rapidly. The duplicated versions will be AI controlled and will seek out players on The Light and attempt to kill them with Slug Rifles. These duplicates can be killed by players on The Light. The duplicates will despawn after 10 seconds. A maximum of 7 duplicates will spawn. The Taken Guardian will still have the ability to double jump and melee. The Taken Guardian will be allowed to throw grenades depending on which Taken enemy they are, as some enemies do not throw grenades. Guardians on The Light will also still have their double jump, melee, grenade and super abilities. What do you think of this game mode concept? Bump if you would like to see this in Destiny! Edit: For the record, I've never played Halo, nor have I seen any gameplay of Juggernaut or Infection. So no, I have not taken anything from these game modes, though they may sound familiar.
