Have you ever been so excited for something, like Christmas for example, and the closer it got to opening those presents the more you couldn't help yourself. When the time finally came to open your presents all you got were a pair of socks and a bread maker, and in the end you were left feeling indifferent. Think of the gift wrap as all the hype, and the game itself as a pair of socks. You can go out and get socks any day of the year, so why gamble with your money and preorder them? Very often the anticipation ends up being the most fun for a lot of things. Before Destiny came out it was so fun speculating with the community, and everyday there was a big countdown timer on my console, but after it came out I just felt indifferent.
