It turns out that this Pulse Rifle is capable of achieving maximum stability, a crucial advantage in Crucible, especially for Pulse Rifles. This guarantees a two-burst, all-headshots, to kill. Two quick bursts, and the enemy is dead. You'll need Rodeo, Hand-Laid Stock, and any sights that benefit stability are icing on the cake. You still have one Perk slot for anything you might want. I have a list of all possible Perks you could acquire in this Perk slot:
•Hidden Hand (this weapon gains better target acquisition. I recommend, a useful perk for hitting those headshots)
•Army of One (unassisted kills with this weapon reduce Grenade and Melee cooldown. I don't recommend for PvP on anything besides shotguns and rocket launchers, as many of your kills will be assisted if you are a team player)
•Reactive Reload (reloading this weapon after a kill grants a damage bonus for a short time. I recommend, it's a very generic and overall useful perk)
•Glass Half Full (the bottom half of this weapon's magazine deals additional damage. Not bad if you shoot off half your mag first to use the bottom half for engagements)
•Secret Round (missing a shot from this weapon's burst will fire a fourth shot. I don't recommend because most shots will hit some part of the target)
•Rangefinder (aiming this weapon increases its effective range. Not too useful, Pulse Rifles already have decent range, and there aren't many long-range Crucible maps)
•Headseeker (body shots with this weapon increase precision damage for a short time. I don't recommend because most shots will be precision given the outstanding stability)
•Counterbalance (this weapo has increased stability. I don't recommend because this perk would just be redundant on the maximum stability)
I (unfortunately) rolled mine with the potential to have maximum stability (which is actually quite rare), but it has Headseeker. It's not entirely useless, though. Whether your targets are in the air, whether you are, or you just miss the headshots, it'll make the kill that much quicker.
Hope I helped!
EDIT: I'm retarded not all PR are two burst kill. I'm so sorry. It's still a good pulse rifle, but I am now advertising the Hopscotch Pilgrim, a legendary pulse rifle only obtainable from Vanguard Dragon Strikes.

You can also get it from the basic POE and up. Headseeker is a useful perk, same as Reactive Reload and Hidden Hand. Pair it with Third Eye or Outlaw and it becomes a pretty useful scalpel.
-
secret round does not do what the perk says. it returns a round to the magazine if all hits from the burst connect. the tooltip has been wrong forever. or they changed the actual perk during development and never updated the tooltip.

Messenger is better. 1. Looks better. 2. Mine is Arc. 3. Has a great scope selection. 4. Has a very tough to choose from middle column. Stability, bigger mag, or faster reload. 5. It 2 burst kills. (Same as hopscotch) 6. It's way harder to get. RNG plus having to work for it. 7. It has Third eye....awesome for crucible. 8. Headseeker is an overall great perk.

Edited by Aron Beijl: 7/2/2015 11:20:20 AMRodeo doesn't affect the weapon's recoil that much. Rangefinder however, allows me to outgun snipers at sniper ranges. The Hopscotch Pilgrim is my favorite Pulse Rifle in existence. The best roll possible has: • Red-Dot OAS • Maximum Stability (preferably through smallbore, since it only takes away one burst and provides a range boost as well. • Outlaw (pulse rifles have ridiculously slow reload speed)

My friend knew I wanted this gun and he said he thought he had it in his vault he used it then said I hate it and dismantled it in front of my face lol
-
Keep it IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MESSENGER.
-
If one cant find this pulse or messenger, AllFate: Hidden Hand and Reactive Reload w/ Hand Laid Stock. P.S Headseeker Works as well.
-
Shhh stop talking about it.
-
Dang. I just dismantled this yesterday...
-
Cannot agree more ! Strikes forever till it dropped, but now it's ascended ;)
-
How many xbox one users have this gun? I have been doing Dragon Strikes for over a week now and no luck. I'm starting to think its not on Xbox. playing iron banner now, I will continue my hunt next week.
-
Heard about HP, ran one dragon strike and got it! (Lucky, I know). This thing wreks all. That stability is insane, like shooting a laser. Loved using it in this round of IB
-
How do you get it. Never heard of it
-
Got mine after 150+ Dragon strikes... I put Third Eye, Smallbore and Headseeker on it... I was thinking about Braced Frame and Hidden hand or Outlaw and Reactive Reload, but I'm trying this to start. I would like another one to experiment with, but I am so sick of Dragon Strikes that I don't see me ever trying for another one.

Check ma warlock!!

Xur Mixalot how do you feel this weapon compares to "The Messenger"? I really like the messenger
-
Xur Mixalot holy crap!
-
Stranger's Rifle :)

For those saying Rodeo doesn't help much with recoil it's true only in part, what it does is provide a small amount of stability but it's most beneficial effect is that it makes all recoil shoot straight up, so there is no left or right sway. I don't thing it's that useful on a pusle, but hey, knowledge is power.

Edited by JackRippah: 7/2/2015 8:52:53 AMRodeo its a waste of perk for pulse. My puppy: - Red DOT ORS1 - Feeding Frenzy - Braced Frame - Reactive Reload With damage buff after quick reload bullet hits 51 dmg (headshots) . 1 burst = 153 dmg ;)
-
Yeah just tell everyone about the really nice gun you just found so they can all get it! That will be super cool! Who wants variety in a game!?
-
Nope. Doesn't have an element, instantly trashed.

Edited by Phi-7: 7/2/2015 8:05:06 PMI've been trying since HoW came out to get Third Eye, Single Point Sling, and Hidden Hand on mine just for PvP, as I love being aware, mobile, and accurate in control games; but, alas I settled for no third eye during ascension, and went with battle runner to move faster while in ADS.
-
I've had this gun like 6 times and always dismantled it, because I feel like the rate of fire was too slow.

Edited by blueshirtguy: 7/2/2015 1:14:14 PMCheck my Lvl 32 titan I've reforged it to have: Hip fire Armor piercing rounds Rangefinder I'm still upgrading it, have not yet reach full potential, but so far the stability as you said is unmatched! I used Red Death but could not handle it well and misses my target more often. I usually aim from far at the enemy's upper torso & neck, there is a higher chance that the last bullet of each pulse will be a head shot and take out the enemy instantly. So far only used it for PvE, not PvP yet, I'm poor at it.

Edited by SergioVengeance: 7/2/2015 1:01:51 PMI'm really looking for this weapon too. I still have my Three Little Words still. It'll be hard to top it and my Messenger. Spare Change was disappointing. Edit: it's great to see so many avid Pulse Rifle users not on the sack of the Red Death. Also not just using The Thorn.
