Bungie Screwed Day 1 Players
So far I have invested $100 into Destiny.
$60 for Destiny itself
$20 for Dark Below
$20 for House of Wolves
($40 for Taken King) - Fair Price for 40GB
Total- $140
New Players
$60 for Destiny, DLC1, DLC2, Taken King and More...
Good, More Players, Welcome to Destiny. I love that.
What I don't love about it: They get all three expansions, some possibly really cool things such as exotic class items, emotes, and shaders. While Day One Players only get a shader, a sparrow that I'll rarely be on, and an emblem. That is my only concern. I would like to have some cool new shit and not just a shader, emblem, and sparrow. It doesn't seem fair to day one players.
Then the loyal day one players are expected to pay another $40 for the Taken King alone. What do the loyal players get?
-Sparrow
-Shader
-Emblem
Now I DO understand the game depreciates. It's common sense. I'm just saying that even though we were the ones to invest over 1,000 hours into the game, we don't get the really cool in game items that day one players can receive.
Bungie, just give us the option to buy these emotes, shaders, and exotic class items. I'll pay you $40 for TTK and probably another $10 for some shaders, emotes, and exotic gear.

Good. I thought I would have to rant about this. Thanks. I just bought the season pass but now I am seasonally pissed about forty dollars of stuff that should have been in the launch game.

Í think the first post is not about the price, he mentioned that he understands that a game depreciates. The issue is that you have to buy the collectors edition which includes the original game and the 2 expansions to get the exclusive emotes, shaders and class items. While day one players who also have the expansions and only need to buy the taken king will only get "vip" stuff. The "vip" stuff that new players will also get if they play taken king by February. In short, day one players will not be able to get the exclusive stuff without buying the collectors edition, while new players will still have a chance to get the supposed "vip stuff". I think the only simple answer is, there should be anothera taken king collector's edition, which does not include the original game and the expansions, but includes the exclusive stuff for 45$.

I dunno save 2 bucks a day. Put it under your mattress. The way I'm looking at it, it's helping me pass time until fallout and the division etc. when those drop, I'll have so many options!

Don't care, play since 1st day, had the chance to see the loot cave, The devil you know, Thorn has 6 round per mag and tons of other stuff new players will newer have a chance to experience them.

It's all mind over matter. I don't mind because Destiny doesn't matter. You're paying your hard earned dollars for entertainment. Nothing else. Do you feel what you are paying for is a good value? If not, don't buy it. HoW is it for me,. The next expansion in my eyes isn't worth the money. But as long as people keep feeding the beasts with cash, this will continue. So unless there is a great exodus from the game, and i'm going to bet there won't be. It'll happen again. Besides none of these objects are real, except for the hard earned cash you are shelling out. Me personally , I can put that $40.00 towards about 6 other games being released before the end of the year. They have to make revenue to pay back hours of development, qa, marketing, licencing , production, and the list goes on and on. Great thing about Capitalism, if it's crap and no one wants to pay for it, it goes away.

I was going to buy the collectors edition even tho I'm a day 1 player. I play 360 with both dlc and I finally got an Xbox one so I can easily upgrade and I will get the VIP stuff. I still think it's stupid tho

I am gonna go ahead and assume no, so why is it not ok for destiny to get cheaper like every other game that has been made?

I don't see why they would want players to "catch up" anyway, this just shows that they know their own story sucked because i was level 19 when i did the final mission. If i did a bounty everyday i would probably be 20. I think it would be better if stuff was locked. It would go.. (Some changes would probably need to be made, I'm not perfect) (No vendors yet) Main Story Strikes (Once 26-7) Vog (It would be cool if you could get etheric light from Atheon, so they could upgrade) CE ONCE ONLY so that they know why Orix is upset.( The upgrade system is way too bad for it to be required) How + Vendors would then sell TTK gear that brings you to only lvl 33 + upgrading and they should be 34 28 PoE then other difficulties are optional Then stuff for TTK like lvl whatever gear, TTK story, raid etc. For people that say "it'll take to long" remember that MANY people completed TDB in a day and HoW in two, so... Like i said this isn't perfect but i think SOMETHING like this should be implemented.

You act as if this devalues the experience. This is how the world works, games depreciate the minute you hand your 60 dollars over the counter, this is no different than a company selling a game of the year edition of the game. This is what happens, you buy a game, DLC is released, you buy that. Later on a GOTY version is released with all the extra content you payed for at a discounted price. If you don't like it don't buy it. Ever.
