Bungie, Please Implement Some Sort of Trading System!

The other day I got two Gjallarhorns and, just then, I realized, "Damn, this is useless". I think, with the right strategy and security, a trading system can work and, for the most part, should be added to the game. If such a trading system should exist, then what would the downsides of an "exotic for an exotic" type of trading system be? Or a legendary for a legendary and etc? If you create a specific and intelligent rule set for trading, it can be done fairly and with no problem (theoretically speaking). Now, in my selfish case, I got TWO Gjallarhorns... Really, Bungie? Now I know that most people reading this are probably thinking, "Sweet Golly &*@"! You got two Gjallarhorns and your unhappy?! I couldn't even score one!!!", but think of it this way. I had ONE and was very stoked and satisfied to get that ONE, but TWO?! That's just a sad waste of a Nightfall Strike that only prevailed to reward me with a duplicate of a gun that is no better in a pair then it was alone and that EVERYONE SEEMS TO WANT... Now let me draw some more dynamic attention to the last part of my previous sentence (in case the full caps weren't enough). The fact that this item is so rare and is in HIGH demand would mean that me having two is like a billionaire winning the billion dollar lottery twice- it could have went to someone who had ZERO Gjallarhorns, but didn't and has little to no effect to the one to claim said rewards. If there's any reason to implement a trading system, duplicate items is probably the best reason, especially in a case similar to this one where Xur (A.K.A. you, Bungie) refuses to sell this item again to all of those who want it, simply to make people want it even more. With a trading system, you get more happy campers, then you would with the sorry "players should gain sentimental memories when attaining exotics for the love of sentimentality" B.S. excuse that was initially given and used to defend this topic with when first confronted with the idea. Generally, the gamers will be happy not when you give them whatever they want, but when you give them the ability to DO whatever they want. "Destiny" should not be like a movie where the makers should be in total control, so give the players more freedom, so that they can at least FEEL in control.

  • This may be an older post, but i agree with everything you have said here. If i have 2 of sometning, then thats it...i cant give it to someone who may be able to enjoy it? Im just going to vault it and there it sits, doing nothing...idk, i just dont dismantle exotics. Just seems like a really good idea to create a fair, and even trading element.
