Necrochasm Guide and Review

I'm doing another review on the Necrochasm. If you already have it and don't feel it's working well for you, skip to the bottom for Pro Tips. If you hate Necrochasm altogether, don't read at all. Stages: Husk of the Pit, Eidolon Ally, Necrochasm Auto Rifle, Sub-machine class (low damage, high rate of fire) Frame/Reload style: Pulse Rifle Attack: 138-339 Rate of Fire: 100 Impact: 2 Range: 13-19 Stability: 37-46 Reload: 51-65-76 Magazine: 37-42 I'm starting from stage one, so bear with me. Husk of the Pit: Basic Stage. Obtainable through two methods: Defeat Sardon, the Fist of Crota, or strike down Blades of Crota. The drop is entirely random, and acquiring this is actually very rare, but not difficult. Its EXP system works differently from all other weapons: to unlock its only upgrade, Cannibalism, you must kill 500 Hive with the weapon. (Special and heavy kills don't count.) The Dark Beyond is a good mission to get this done in about half an hour, as you have the checkpoint just as the Hive swarm you. Don't kill the knight, or you'll lose the checkpoint. Just let it kill you, and you can start the swarm over. Husk of the Pit has a fixed attack stat of 138 and does little damage. It has a magazine capacity of 37 and a very slow reload. Be mindful of this and it's terrible stability when you take aim with its unique sights. Eidolon Ally: Legendary Stage. The Ally is a direct upgrade from Husk of the Pit. To obtain it, upgrade Husk of the Pit using an Enbalming Orb. You can purchase an orb from Eris Morn for ten (10) Black Wax Idols. From this point until the final damage upgrade, Eidolon Ally behaves just like a normal legendary weapon, and requires the same materials in the same quantities. Cascade is its first upgrade, speeding up reloads post-melee. Rangefinder is the second upgrade, making the weapon more accurate at longer range while aiming down the sights. It only has two Ascendant Damage Upgrades. The third is replaced by Burgeoning Hunger, which requires a Crux of Crota to unlock. To obtain a Crux, you must defeat Crota in the hard mode of the Crota's End raid an obscene amount of times, and has a similar drop rate to the Vex Mythoclast in the Vault of Glass. Eidolon Ally starts with 272 attack, and must be upgraded to 312 attack before the final upgrade can be administered. The stats are very slightly improved from Husk of the Pit, and the magazine jumps to its maximum of 42. Necrochasm: Exotic Stage, treated as a final "Upgrade Damage" to Eidolon Ally and comes fully upgraded upon administering a Crux of Crota. it deals Arc Damage and has an attack stat of 339: currently the highest in the game. Its stats are further improved upon from Eidolon Ally, and nothing can be upgraded further. Necrochasm sees the Cascade upgrade moved to Tier 0 with Arc Damage, and replaces Tier 2 with Cursebringer, its unique upgrade that results in about half of your precision kills ending with Cursed Thrall explosions. Pro Tips: -Necrochasm has a short magazine despite its high rate of fire. By the exotic stage, the damage is fair. Spew out rounds when enemies come within medium-short range, and go for precision damage. -The Cursebringer upgrade can be invaluable for taking out or whittling down small groups of enemies. The explosions are generally smaller than those of actual cursed thralls, but the bonus damage can be invaluable in mid-to-high level settings. -The exotic stage gains Arc damage, which makes Necrochasm powerful against Blades of Crota, Omnigul, Ascendant Knights, Fallen Captains, Vex Harpy Zealots, and in any Arc Burn setting. Take this into consideration anytime you add it to your arsenal. What types of shielding will you see, and what is the burn set for, if there is any? Pitting Necrochasm against Solar or Void shields is a guaranteed recipe for disaster with low ammo capacity. -Any stage of this weapon is fairly effective if you're just playing around in low-level settings. If you have an "It's All In The Head" bounty, you can count the Cursed Thrall explosions to track your progress without having to check the Inventory screen every five seconds Have fun with your Necrochasm if/when you get it! Edit: To those who have identified the weapon as the "Worst in the game," you are entitled to your opinions. However, I find it quite useful and personally enjoy using it, as many others do. If you have nothing better to do than bash my attempts to help or inform others, please kindly shove a cactus up a part of your body where the sun does not shine. Thank you for raising this post on the board. Have a nice day. Edit 2: To the bashers and haters: by all means, keep commenting now. You're only making the post more popular, and more available to the people who can actually find the guide/review useful. I see that you have nothing better to do with your lonely little lives, so if it makes you feel wanted, feel free to continue. Don't forget to adjust that cactus every few hours.
