So, the "playername points" notification has two modes:
1. When not pointing at a player, as above, OR
2. "pointing_player points at target_player"
What if we could "point at" bosses, treasure chests, material nodes, etc.?
It ought to be pretty easy to at least do anything with a health bar.

Logoriel points at Crota Crota points into your soul
-
Agreed. Especially for chests since sometimes they can be hidden very well.

Simple and good idea, bump.

This is not really something bungie should be working on with the current state of the game, yes it is a good idea but there are other things that need fixing rather than small, pointless aesthetics.
-
So I get the argument for not having matchmaking for Poe for the higher levels but why can't there be an option. Why can't we just skip the pain of having to open the lfg app on our phones to do random matchmaking and just implement it in the game, it doesn't make any sense, it's the same thing.
-
If you point at Crota, he will point back.

Gears of war style call outs? Nice idea. Would help the no Mic players (and their teams) massively. Click thumbstick to lock a player is already in the game, carrying this to everything else is one of those "should have been in day one" ideas. Arbitrary bump.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/125842415 They buried my thread about mm and thread deletions. Again. Made ANOTHER new one. Need some bumps guys!

I say we should be able to point at capture zones in Control so my whole team doesn't sit on the point with me to cap it while the enemy takes our other one.

Bump After clearing a pack of wolves on Venus, I found the chest, but wasn't able to signal the others where it was, so only about 2 people other than me actually got rewards from it. Kinda sucks when that happens
-
I agree on that one. It already works kind of that way when a group of players (not in a fire team) looks for loot chests or things like that. Waving, pointing and dancing help to get the other players attention when you found the chest.
-
Agreed

Seems like a decent idea to me, although it should only apply to "special" targets like wolf chests or named enemies so you don't have to slog through a swarm of enemies just to point at something.

they need to add laugh and cry emotes as well...

Chests, ether chests (should add a lil icon others can see, with options having a toggle incase you do not care and don't want to see) Public events have lil icons, would be nice if pointing put an icon on said pointed object based on what it is (available icons, chests, gold chests, ether chests, raid chests, resource nodes... maybe ghost icons light them up? like beacon icons :P only things that light up otherwise, without ghost, are when you in fireteam with said person. And, certain enemies should have said marker enabled... :p Xyor, queen bounty targets, ... Urzok, anything of particular interest should be highlightable with a beacon icon... the priority targets or items appear regardless of fireteam linkup... (casual non important stuff... normal loot chests, and resources, can be opted to the ghost highlighted only option) anything, excluding priority targets, can be opted to ghost, to fireteam (/team) both, or can be excluded entirely... (individual based on object/ target type)

Good idea but I believe exactly what the person below stated. This game has so many issues, for them to stop and work on that would be insanity. Then again they stopped to make the purple ball glow so maybe they will be dumb enough to do this too. Great idea, I love it, it has a lot of uses, but all bosses always spawn in the same spot yes? What if it also put a target over their head so you could see them at all times, even behind walls and stuff. We all know some bosses like to dissappear for a moment. However I do think their efforts could be put towards more meaningful aspects.
