So they nerfed shotguns last expansion by nerfing the range, and then Felwinters becomes widely available and people realize that its range and impact make it better than even pre-nerf shotguns were, and then the new expansion comes out and now we have Party Crasher +1 and Matador to add to the list of shottys that basically negate the nerfs entirely
Did Bungie's Crucible team really just nerf shotguns to make them balanced only to release new shotguns that bring us back to square one? Where the hell is the logic there? I feel like the need to request shotgun nerfs is back since these new shottys along with Felwinters already have insanely good base impact and range stats, and the ability to reforge them to get even higher range and impact makes them completely bonkers

1. A shotgun isn't a point-blank weapon. Even Felwinter's has a ridiculously short range compared to shotguns in other FPS 2. If you are constantly being harrassed by shotguns....then the guns aren't the problem. You are either playing too recklessly....or not paying enough attention to your radar and the flow of battle. 3. If you are being shotgun-rushed....DON"T STAND YOUR GROUND. Either backpedal while firing to keep the rusher from closing. CHARGE the rusher to throw his timing off. Get vertical, or (if dealign with a blink-shotgunner) MOVE in any direction that forces him to have to look for where you went. That will neutralize any advantages to the rusher.

They had to make those new shotguns to balance felwinters. The devs will never nerf of buff a specific gun so they have to use these sophisticated changes to level the field. In this case instead of bringing felwinters down to the level of all the other shotguns, they brought the others up to match it.

U know I've been wondering about fusion rifles lately, they seem to have gotten that sniping range back, idk
-
A shotgun that kills in one shot? Thats so crazy it makes complete sense
-
Stop runnin and gunnin like a chicken missing it's head and play the mid range. Watch your radar though to keep up on anyone coming near you, or advanced warning to corner campers.
-
They still have weak range overall. They are fine where they are now.

Funny, I got a Party Crasher on the first day of the HoW with Shot Package and Luck in the Chamber. I was going to reroll it to get hammerforged or Rangefinder, but then I found out it's no longer possible on HoW weapons. So I guess that was their way of bringing powerful weapons in the game, but having their limited range drawbacks.
-
My opinion yes. Let's look at some other co-incidences; 1 - More vault space, bungie released this before HoW they say they implemented it because of customer feedback. Nope, it was planned 2 - More bounty space, they added this just before dark below. They say again it's because of customer feedback. Nope it was planned to cater for 'dark below' expansion 3 - The nerfs and buffs for exotics, again they say it's because of balancing issues and customer feedback. Nope it was planned, the changes came just before dark below to cater for the new raid mechanics Bungie is slow when releasing patches and amendments. It's a co-incidence that these buffs and nerfs cater to the next expansion or gameplay.

Universal Remote has a scope... And to this day I still wonder why.
-
Anyway, certain morons aside *cough*brad*cough* a shotgun is a close range murder weapon. Translation for those of you unable to understand? get close and you will be MAIMED! So, they nerfed shotguns- and promptly brought out weapons that weren't affected by the nerf, which beg's the question why? what possible reason would you have for doing something and then adding something which defeated the whole point of nerfing a weapon? just another reason why they should hire decent programmers. If I get close to a shotgunner? unless I'm faster I DESERVE to get murdered and that's the point of a shotgun.

Quit crying. Felwinters lie still the best
-
All shotguns pattern. You should check the pattern whenever you modify the barrel or change chokes. Hope that helped!
-
Yeah the range seems to be crazy
-
I never noticed shotguns to be so powerful until fellwinters lie...

Edited by Yaangy: 5/29/2015 12:23:12 PMJudgement iv has the same stats as those two shotguns? That gun has been out since day 1. Why does people not notice it? You can buy it too.
-
Stop crying,a shotgun is a shotgun deal with it.
-
Stfu u have a chance to have a Felwinter and or New Dlc shotgun Ur tears doe

Edited by nextlevelsalty: 5/29/2015 1:42:09 AMTrust me, you should have seen shotguns before all this balancing tripe came into it. They were great. As were fusion rifles and Autorifles. Only scouts at the time felt underwhelming but they still did well in PVE.. Now any shotgun aside from Felwinter's and the other hard hitting ones are but a shadow of what they used to be, and very inconsistent in their performance. Basically have the effective range of a five year old taking a piss.
-
No matter how many nerfs we get, we'll still find a way to wreck you little bitches.
-
Cry more
-
Failwinter still own you with one shoot from a long distance, so at this point i guess there's a bug on the range's script of the game
-
Shotguns have a range cap. They aren't getting any longer ranges.
-
I never understood why felwinter has such amazing range when even without it it's damage is great for taking out high end targets in PvE while minimalizing ammo usage, but at the same time being able to offer an instant counter against Radiance and Bladedancer with the right build. A proper nerf to these shotguns IMO would be to increase their pellet spread so shotpackage only puts them on an even level with other shotguns, either that or have shotpackage reduce range as a side effect.

Pretty sure Party crasher beats Fel's, whereas matador barely doesn't. I have to reroll mine.
