What you NEED to know about ARs and why the High Impact models are the most undesirable performance-wise. (Hear me out)

Right now in Destiny there are five Auto Rifle Archetypes that follow the same Impact, Range, and may vary based within certain parameters within the rest of the stats associated with the weapon; Lightweight: High Handling, fastest to get to ADS (~.05-.09 second difference), weapon swap animations involving the weapon are faster, and readying it from sprint's unparalleled. Pretty much they have Quickdraw pre-packaged. The only current one I know to exist is the Do Gooder V which you may remember to have the same Impact and RoF as Up For Anything & For The People, but notably less Stability & mag size with a higher RoF. If you still want one try getting the Rare Deep Fix T76 found from Tiger Strikes on down (though I highly doubt anyone does) Stable: See UFA/FTP, right now the Vindicator XI sports this kit. Basically, the Shingen you know and love these lads are incredibly easy to control with their high Stability, easiest to use while maintaining a non-minimum Impact. Precise: Wolfslayer's Claw, Shadow Price, Vanquisher, etc. Max Impact, best in-class range. Low Mag, RoF, and Handling. Rapid: With 1.1.2 & Necrocasm Bungie actually put this archetype on-top compared to other Autos after long being the hands-down worst possible weapon you could own. Body shots alone with the Necro will kill in the same 1.06 seconds a Precise archetype auto knocks with Crits only. Bear in-mind I've a 55% precision kill ratio with the Necro, recoil ain't half bad once you get the hang of it. Like riding a bike as Handcannon users say. Once you do you'll find it's TTK to be really on-par with the Oversoul Edict. Balanced: Incredibly similar to the Precise archetype, just less Range, more in the mag, and slightly faster Reloads. I don't think any Tower vendor has one currently available. Analysis: Right now, I hate to say it, but in regards to both TTK & DPS the Stable archetype out-classes the Precise archetype, albeit not terribly so damage wise as it's not but the .06 on the TTK of 1.06 vs the Vindicator's 1.0, but they're also MUCH easier to utilize effectively. This is especially true if you don't enjoy/can't manage the recoil on the Rapid archetype. That said, if you've a Necrocasm I heartily recommend giving it a go next time you're not matched against anything from the Golden Five or a good Legendary HandC user. Main point of the entire post: Despite loving the hell outta my Vanquisher, getting two Her Right Hands' (Fallen Queen confirmed?) this week, Wolfslayer's currently being made available, AND the Vanguard Quartermaster selling the Pest Control Matrix I must admit: High Impact Autos, are literally the worst in dealing the damage you need in any situation as they are directly outclassed in every way by the Stable archetype (albeit slightly) and largely outclassed by the Necro given a hand capable of handling the recoil which while not always easy is definitely not what the community cracks it up to be. NOTE: The link to the TTK chart I provided is wrong in one aspect, he didn't distinguish between the Balanced and Precise archetypes as well as missed the Do Gooder's Lightweight stat profile.
