Alright, we all know that people have varying opinions about matchmaking for Raids and that Bungie has said no, but I got to thinking today and I have an idea.
What if there were certain areas in the tower (or a new social area, like a Raid Outpost) where people that want to raid, but don't want to poke around on LFG can go to find groups?
For example, you would have an area that broke off into 4 rooms, one for each raid at each difficulty. This gives a chance to see each other before inviting, people can inspect other players before inviting, but since the person is in that room, it is established that they want to do that raid at that difficulty so you don't need to worry about sending a message first or blind inviting. This also eliminates the need to have a computer nearby.
Step two could be a system that allows a fire team leader to send a message to that room if they lose a person mid-raid and allows someone to join right away. The rooms could have access restricted by level as well in accordance to the raid difficulty.
Just a thought of mine, wanted to know what others think!
Edit: I say Raid, but this could easily be expanded to other end game activities where traditional matchmaking is not sufficient (PoE, ToO, even Nightfalls).

this has been suggested OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. No. If you want to get a steady raid team, join a clan. It's as easy as that. I've never had to worry about LFG for ANYTHINg: Nightfall, Weekly, Raids, and Bounties.

Sounds cool to me. If they had it it would use it
