Most of us believe there is life outside Earth, am I right? Many believe that extraterrestri civilizations more advanced then our own may exist. However, meeting an advanced alien civilization may not be an invasion or a interspecies habdshake. Rather, it could be somethibg different. Civilizations are classified by Fururists into 3 main categories, based on size and energy consumption. Type I civilizations dominate an entire planet, controlling and consuming al resources on said planet. Type II civilizations are fueled by an entire star, and have completely colonized their home system. Type III civilizations have control over much of their home galaxy, absorbong the energy of millions of stars to power their galactic empire. Once a civilization has reached the Type III stage, it is likely to be capable if interdimensional travel and other feats that are currently considered impossible. But what if we were to meet such a civilization? It may be similar to a new road or house being built, resulting in many anthills being mowed over, destroyed instantly due to the construction of something they cannot even comprehend. It it likely that Type III civilizations simply "mow over" lesser civilizations in pursuit of incomprehensible goals. Note that the distance between us, a Type 0 civilization, and a Type III is much greater than that between us and ants. However, at the point of reaching Type III, a civilization may have learned the importance of life, and will seek to avoid ending it whenever possible. However, the nature of an alien civilization in regards to culture and religion remains a mystery, so being mowed over by higher beings is still a possibility.
