So, there is quite a bit of people that are talking about the auto rifle nerf and how bad it was. Some people believe that it was well deserved. Personally, I believe the suro's rampage was extreme, never really liked it to be quite honest. Too easy. But I do have a problem now with what I am experiencing in Iron Banner. You can tell which weapons are strong and which ones are not.
Currently there is a tier list of weapons. In PvE and PvP I have seen enough of this game to understand and order it.
Tier one: Hand cannons
Tier two: Pulse rifles
Tier three: Scout Rifles
Tier four: Auto rifles
Now, this itself would not be a problem. But with Iron banner and crucible, you are basically forced to use the top two. I rarely see scout rifles, I see auto rifles even less. I am actually quite upset at this because I love games that have a good weapon diversity. Destiny does not have that. Bungie has annoyingly fixed one problem to create another in it's wake. They say they play the game but apparently they don't even understand the changes that they did were only good on paper. This is the second time they have done this. Once with the Necrochasm and now second with their balance changes.
I only have one idea to help bungie fix their 'paper' illusion issue: Public testing. Testing it among developers and employees will lead to a very limited view. If you create something you cannot actually foresee the issues you have created, since you cannot see it through another set of eyes and a dispassionate mind. This is where the players come in. We love the game, this is our hobby. We have many opinions and ideas, but as a consumer we are also very critical and perceptive on issues. (Pretty sure every bungie staff member knows this from the amount of "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG" messages Poor Deej. xD)
I also know that the one idea can be quite difficult to actually set up. Since there is not a reliable way to create a type of sub realm where testing can occur using the Ps3-4 and Xbox360-one. But I believe you guys could at least figure something out. 'Cause this game really needs it. The best type of game is a game where you can contribute to it in some way. Just my two cents.
Edit: Just had an idea: A demo style of testing. Allow people to download a second app for destiny that is used to load the public test realm, but requires either the digital game or the disc. Thus allowing people whom own the game to test without allowing freebies. The test realm can be disconnected as bumgie sees fit after a certain time. This would allow players to play either regular retail destiny. Or public beta destiny at their and bungie's choosing. The idea would need to be ironed out in a more possible way, but just trying to help.
