I have been seeing a lot of people who complain about lag mention their MB/s download speed in relation to their connection as if their high download speeds means they shouldnt lag. GUYS. "MB" means NOTHING for connection. Having 78mb, 40mb, 180mb fibre, 1gb connections is only the DOWNLOAD speed. How quickly you download things, updates, videos, games etc. PING determines connection speed. The lower your PING, the faster and less laggy your game is. I have 120mb/s download speed with a 6ms ping. I have great connection speed, always. You could have "150mb download speed fibre" at 27ms ping and it will be laggy as shit. Go to speedtest.net and run a test. If your ping is higher than 20ms, you may have connection issues. Call your service provider and ask them to troubleshoot why your ping/latency is so high. Now please, stop thinking your download speed changes lag. It does not. You can have 5mb download speed with 7ms ping and have zero lag. ms Ping/Latency (milliseconds)= connection speed/lag MB/s (megabits per second) = downloads If you want less lag, lower your ping, open your NAT and foreward ports. Theres tutorials everywhere for how to do these things.
