Will non-raid gear (IE, not obtained from either VoG or Crota's End) be ascendable to 42 Light? It seems a little sad to think that VoG gear could still end up on the same level as (although not outleveled by, thankfully - steps in the right direction even I don't fully agree with them) vendor gear once again. I can understand the reasoning if Etheric Light only dropped in a Level 32+ activity; then the players would need to either give an exceptional effort, fighting from a level disadvantage or pass through Crota's End anyway. My only problem with that system is that it still leaves it as a valid option to just bypass the VoG altogether, since vendor gear can still replace it.
