DeeJ, I disagree with your thoughts on players trading items/weapons and here is why.

First of all, after watching twitch stream yesterday, I am really looking forward to HoW expansion and think that everyone at Bungie did an awesome job listening to the community. Personally, I am a little relieved that HoW end-game is not another raid; PoE sound like it will be fun and different. Now, back to my topic. I definitely understand your vision and can appreciate that behind every exotic weapon should be an awesome story. PvP is just not my thing, but when I got my Thorn and Invective bounties, I was all up in it. All I had at that time was a void shotgun, void MGM Harms Way machine gun that I got from you guys post Christmas time (thank you for that), and void grenade from my titan. I was in the crucible every night until I fulfilled 500 void kill points. After I got my Thorn, it actually felt deserved. I got my Suros Regime from a Legendary engram, my Plan-C from a chest in CE lamp section right before you nixed it, and I got my Red death from Xur. 0 gjallarhorn, 0 Fatebringer, but did get my Mythoclast in 2nd try; cant complain too much about that. My point is that saying "I got my gjallarhorn from Datto" or "I got my Suros from Xur" is one and the same; neither of these statements is epic nor exciting. Honestly, I would never trade my Thorn for Gjallarhorn, but I would pay 50 strange coins for it. I was in a nightfall strike lastweek with two randoms, one of them had 12 kills and was barely contributing to the fight and you know what he got ... Hawkmoon. So imagine what his story is behind that Hawkmoon? Lastnight, I was playing VoG on hard for gazillionth time in hopes of getting fatebringer and I got nothing; actually 27 ascendant shards from the whole run and after dismantling titan helmet. However, a guy playing VoG for the second time got 2 fatebringers from Templar and gally after Atheon. Epic/awesome story behind an exotic weapon is just not the reality and some time from now, guardians will accumulate more and more awesome exotics and legendaries they don't need and will be collecting dust in their vault or eventually become scrap metal. I would rather trade one of my two MIDAs and Hardlights than to scrap them, wouldn't you agree?

A polite debate? I'll bite... "I got my Ghorn from Datto" is slightly different than "I got my Suros from Xur," because Xur does require some personal investment of time and effort. You earn those Strange Coins. You save them up for the right purchase. You braved those Heroic Strikes. I'm not here to talk you into being happy about the lack of a trading system. I know the heart wants what the heart wants and there is no explaining that away. And, please remember, the systems that govern progression and gear acquisition are not my vision. I'm the dude that gets to talk to you - even though I don't do it often enough (cry pardon). What I can promise is that our design team is well aware that you want some manner of trading in Destiny. We'll have to wait and see how that factors into their future work. Thanks for this thread.
