Vault of Glass Mystery Solved! Entire Vault Explained!

Finally, the mystery has been solved. After nearing the anniversary of the game, the Vault of Glass has been cracked. "Causal pathways converge on Atheon from every axis in the space-time bulk." - Atheon Grimoire Atheon is the conflux of every time axis in the space-time bulk. He is one of the only two constant entities in the Vault. The other being the Aegis. What's happening during the Atheon fight is every guardian to ever fight Atheon in the infinite history of time is converging on Atheon from their personal and private time line. So during Time's Vengeance, you're not doing extra damage, you're just attacking Atheon at the same point in time as every other guardian fighting him. Every bullet that hits for extra damage is the exact bullet hitting Atheon from a parallel timeline. Atheon is fighting infinite amounts of guardians at once. Now the story of Kabr states he is still alive within the Vault fighting the Vex. This was a more tricky solution but it's a paradox. Kabr is fighting Atheon with us, but he is also on his own timeline. Atheon is defeated within time, of course, we are able to beat him. But not without the help of the Aegis. If Kabr had the Aegis during his fight with Atheon he wouldn't have lost and would've came home, however he didn't. He lost, and for him to lose he would have to not have made the Aegis. However, the Aegis is still within the Vault when we converge down there. So what happened? Solution: We descend into the Vault before Kabr's fireteam did. Kabr has not existed in our timeline yet, but he does in the future. When he bends time with the Aegis it becomes a solid entity in the Vault, it becomes the counterpart to Atheon. For Atheon to exist, the Aegis must exist as well. This is why no enemy can pierce the shield, because it is made equal to Atheon. So to put it simply, we enter the Vault before Kabr. In Kabr's timeline he creates the Aegis to counter Atheon. Atheon exists in our timeline so the shield is written into existence on our timeline by Atheon so he can exist. So how is Kabr a legend in our timeline? Kabr was the only guardian truly unwritten from existence. Almost like saying he was damned to suffer the Vault for eternity. He lives on as long as Atheon does. Atheon's processors, the gorgons/oracles/templar must've written him out at some point and so he written into some eternal version of the Vault. This is why he forgot his team, his team made it out of the eternal suffering, but was either killed or locked inside until death. Kabr lives on inside the vault, and fights for his existence, which is why the shield appears in times of need, and why his armor is found in the vault. To put it into terms more or less accurate, he is a ghost inside the Vault, aiding us to defeat Atheon. If we defeat Atheon from our timeline, Atheon in every other timeline is defeated as well, including Kabr's. Which would write him into existence again. So why is Kabr still not written into existence? Because when Atheon is summoned in our personal timelines, time freezes. At that point every guardian to ever fight Atheon is frozen in time until the point in which Atheon is defeated. Okay so what about the Vex Mythoclast? The ultimate reward for DEFEATING Atheon, which I just said is impossible until the end of time, which is never. It's in the description of the gun. A causal time loop. For time to end, everything would need to end, so for time to prevent ending itself it instead restarts itself. Atheon is time. Once Atheon is gone, time is gone. Time cannot be gone. It loops itself and we revert back to our journey prior to defeating Atheon. Sorry for the long read, let me know what you think! Edit: Thank you community for all the support and opinions! A lot of you have proven that Kabr did exist before our timeline and it's completely true. So to explain this shortly and simply, Kabr's fireteam existed before us and went down into the Vault. Upon reaching their final point, Kabr was unwritten from existence by the will of Atheon to be damned to the only place he could exist; nowhere. An eternal Vault of Glass. Damned to be by himself. However this was not a quick disappearing act. The way the grimoire states being 'unwritten' from existence means it must take time to 'unwrite' him. As he was being unwritten he was losing his mind and sometimes he would see his fireteam with him, other times he would not. To put it easily he was between realms. Blinking in and out of both. His fireteam's fate is unknown, all except Pahanin. He made it out of the Vault with little sanity after watching Kabr slowly go mental before completely disappearing into thin air. Scared of the same fate, he created the Super Good Advice to keep his sanity before meeting his end with Dredgen Yor. Thank you again for all the support fellow Guardians! Edit 2: Many people are asking questions along the lines of "What do you mean time freezes when we summon Atheon? What do you mean we can't defeat Atheon? End of time? What?" Well for another simple-ish explanation: When we summon Atheon time is frozen, but from our perspective we jump forward to the point in time of Atheon's defeat, when every guardian who will fight Atheon has summoned him. The point in time where Atheon fights every single guardian in existence. Once Atheon is defeated, there are two possible outcomes. We stay in the Vault, from our perspective we just defeated Atheon. But in real time the fight was won, time was broken, everything ceases to exist and we are teleported to the only place where nothing exists, the same eternal realm Kabr was cursed to. Or time resets to before we defeated Atheon. So, once defeating Atheon we are then unwritten from existence and are cursed to the same realm as Kabr, or time resets prior to your specific guardian entering the Vault. [Edit 06-03] ... .. We must save Kabr... [Edit 09-10] With the Taken King in plain sight, a new ghost interaction system, new quests, and dead ghosts being found in Crota's End. I would like to hold this thread up until the new lore is discovered within the next DLC. After the new lore is found I will likely retire this thread (or would like to) and begin speculations on the King's Fall raid, which is said to also be shrouded in mystery. I'm an avid Destiny player, and I aspire to stand out in the community. This thread has achieved way more than I thought it ever would, and while it's not a major accomplishment to have a strong, and long, running thread, it's a good feeling to hear all your feedback and personal opinions on my own theory, as well as sharing your theories. Thank you for everyone's input on this. I'll be writing again soon. [Edit 12-02] So I finally got around to my next theory on the Exo Strangers identity! • LEGEND & MYSTERIES: i was doing the Echo Chamber strike. Before going to the boss we encounter a Fallen Tank and some fallen enemies. Weird right? A vex strike. Things didnt makes sense. So we searched around and found these Wolves Guards. They were standing over old Vex bodies. Now i am sure Bungie put them in for a reason. The Venus Vault of Glass has a huge mystery and I am sure this is a key or a clue. Anyone think about it? Deej said they created the world for us and we must solve the mystery! Ok so i was thinking, you know how we need to stand on 3 portals to open Vault of Glass? What if one extra person stands at the portal at the Eye of the Gate lord? Anyone try that? There is a big mystery here. Especially with Praedyth's door. I didnt try that, I will. Ill start VoG, first we will go to the area where echo chamber strike is, wait for the Fallen tank and kill that hiding Wolves Guard. Then, 4 people will stand on these platforms (VoG & Eye of Gate Lord) while two people search for the door. If that does not work, ill try it with the Paradox mission. Now some theories say we need to find Praedyth or the remains. But there is a chance Kabr is still alive. After all the legend says that he survived the Vault of Glass and went insane and he is trapped. Maybe we need to liberate him? There is something big going on and it must be found! What I am thinking is this. The Exo were created to fight the Vex. Long ago there was an epic titanic battle. There was a "rookie" guardian who was a part of it. When the vex prevailed, the ghost of one of the guardians time traveled. That ghost traveled into the Vault of Glass. That ghost is the soul of praedyth and pradeyths mind function within the ghost, and praedyth can be found. He is in the vault that I am damm sure. So this quote on Praedyth's mystery just confirms we can find him. Now Praedyth can be reborn, found or revived: " "If the Vex can be wrong... if they can make mistakes... someday he could be free. Someday he might leave the Vault, might see again the Traveler." Thats a guarantee we got to save his ass:) Mystery: Vault of Glass: The image clears of dirt and dust as a hand wipes the lens clean. A figure holds the Ghost up, looking into the lens. {...} And beyond it all, above the clouds, hangs a perfect alabaster sphere. The image wobbles, shaking, flickering as if the Ghost is blinking. And the fragment ends. I think it speaks of the Black Garden that sees the Tower plantent we have fromt he top (Alabasther Spehre). If you read Mystery Vault of Glass 2 : - A landscape, from a position a few feet off the ground, moving laterally to the point of view. The Ghost appears to be clipped to the Exo's belt. The image is of a battlefield, and over two dozen Exo soldiers can be seen marshalling for battle. - A chaotic scene of Vex and Exos fighting a titanic battle. {...}The last image: a sigil of Golden Age Earth, emblazoned on the side of the ship's prow. This was Praedyth's battle. The ghost moved on to the Vault of Glass. In Praedyths Door grimoire it says: "If the Vex can be wrong... if they can make mistakes... someday he could be free. Someday he might leave the Vault, might see again the Traveler." Praedyth can be found!!! 100%. And the Traveler is looking for him! Stranger's Rifle the key to this?

      • So is Atheon still alive, and since we entered the vault, will anything happen to us eventually? In Year 10, will we be unwritten from existence, marking the end of Destiny? We have the ability to raid over and over again, meet the same people, and play the story missions over and over again.

        • But Kabr did come before us. We know this because Pahnin(the maker of the Super Good Advice) watched kabr and followed him to the vault. Kabr died in the vault long before we entered. He didn't make it past the templar for that is where he made the Aegis, his light was torn from him and infused into the shield. Your theory is interesting but flawed

            • This is honestly such a great theory. Whether this be true or not, I tip my hat to you, good sir. Hopefully you can add on to this once we learn a little about who Preaydth really is.

Okay. One big flaw with this theory.
If we raided before Kabr, how do we know who Kabr was? The shield certainly doesn't talk. We wouldn't know why the shield was there, or what it was.
Edit:
Also, Osiris created the trials of Osiris, so he MUST have raided before we Gaurdians did.
• Based from what I've read , here's my thought , Kabr lost his sanity because his fireteam members were the ones who were being erased from existence (that's why he kept saying he went alone but the vault couldn't be opened alone), Pahanin and Osiris ( I think ) were the only survivors ( but Pahanin was killed in Crucible ), then The other ones ( Praedyth and some other guardians ) were erased because of you check some VoG weapons they have Unknown Quotes on em, so could those Unknown people be the one who were erased by the oracles and gorgons? Then Kabr was the last one to get erased , he somehow defied the gorgons and made the Aegis out of it along with the rest of his light , because he couldn't defeat Atheon alone.
