I'm so tired of seeing topics like this. If you're on the internet, you're going to come across tons of people that act completely different then they would in real life. Do you know why? The internet is anonymous, no one knows who you are, therefore people feel invincible. If that is to much for you to comprehend, then please get off the internet. I personally believe respect is earned, just because you're a certain gender, that doesn't mean I'm going to treat you like a princess or a prince. That being said, take a look at what game you're playing. Most games have an age range mostly made of 14-18 year olds. Most (not all) are not mature, combined with the fact the that they feel there invincible & you're going to get a vast group of people that are going to throw insults around. They don't care of your male or female, they're just going to insult you for no reason. If you can't handle taking insults from a random person who you will never meet, I'd hate to see how you're doing in the real word. I hate when people think they deserve to be treated special or good by everyone they encounter. I personally have only been harassed in the COD community, I have not one been harassed in any other games. I do not feel the need to specify that I am a female when I play and when people find out, I don't demand then to treat me like a queen. And if I do have someone harassing me, do you know what I do? I mute & block them, Idk why people have to over complicate things. The mute & block button is there for that specific reason, so if you don't use it, don't complain.
