Armor look vs light levels
I enjoy the gear that's in destiny but rather frustrated with the fact the limited exclusive armor sets are just rare. They look awesome and some of the most cool looking gear to me. I collected the Vanir armor set for the Titan. But by the time I got the set it was far obsolete by off the shelf legendary gear.
Now still most gear is still the plane base designs with some thing glued on the side or its plastered with faction symbols. It rather sucks that the actual unique gear is rare quality or Raid set. That I have most of Crotas gear and its just standard stuff with hive accents. Don't get me wrong looks awesome. But I would like to get a set like vanir armor to legendary quality.
Now just my humble opinion. Take it as it is and let's talk about this maturely.

1 Replythe new ascend program will allow you to take any legendary armor to maximum light level. this is not a true transmogrification system but makes your vanir just as valuable as crota gear....the grind to get the ethiric light to upgrade will be long i'm guessing.

A "transmogrification" system is still something that this game is in serious need of. Their current strategy of leveling up all gear to level 34 is not even remotely similar to a transmog system because of the reasons you have stated. New gear is most likely going to have better rolls so I'll most likely find no use in my old gear come HoW. A system like this would rejuvenate this game beyond words.

1 ReplyI'm inclined to agree with you, even regarding the base game. I'm not thrilled with having light level tied to my armor. I'm weary of my Raku Fulcrum, but nothing with better light has come along so I'm stuck in this plasteel prison.
