Bungie - Destiny - Future

Dear Bungie, For a long time I have debated posting my critiques of Destiny on your forums – mainly to gauge how you as a company would react towards the criticism of others. As an individual who stopped gaming a number of years ago, I decided to come out of retirement and give Destiny a shot. With all of my PVP stats in the top 25% (or better), 77 VOG completions, and 186 Crota completions, I feel as though I might be able to provide you with some valuable feedback. With the recent 1.1.2 update, I must commend you on finally giving users: 1. Updated vault space (this was definitely needed). 2. Colorblind support (extremely helpful for individuals such as myself who have this issue). 3. Audio Controls (my wife thanks you for this). With that being said I feel as though: 1. The Dark Below expansion was a waste of money. With Destiny costing about $60.00 and the Dark Below Expansion about $20.00 – I feel as though the expansion should contain at least 1/3 new game material when compared to the original. 2. While I can overlook a lacking “Storyline” since a majority of Destiny gameplay is done post story, I am beyond furious that House of Wolves will not include a new Raid. Many users I play with do not like playing PVP, however a bulk of new material seems to be geared this way. Raids are the most interesting portion of this entire game, and by deciding to not include a new raid you are failing much of your fan base. 3. Vault of Glass is my favorite raid. The difficulty, playability, and overall detail that went into its creation are far superior to that of Crota. Crota seems as though it was thrown together haphazardly, and is quite disappointing. 4. While I am aware bungie can change anything… at any time… The fact that 2 new social areas, 1 strike, three new missions (with three quests), and Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders will be in the new DLC is again… disappointing. Social areas and missions do not really equate to game replay ability. Trials of Osiris do for individuals who enjoy PVP, however I don’t expect much from Prison of Elders (especially if Crota is an indication of end game PVE). 5. I can understand the reasoning behind random loot drops for raids, pvp, etc., as this is only done to increase replay ability. Once an individual has every weapon there is no real reason to continue to play Destiny; however this is a sign that the game itself is not interesting or challenging enough. There is nothing driving an individual to be good at playing this game – it actually appears to be the opposite. While I appreciate Destiny, it is becoming less and less appealing to play. I don’t know many people who care about new DLC rare guns, ships, etc. as they have almost NO impact on the game. I only write this because fewer and fewer people continue to play – which is disheartening for a game I do enjoy. Lastly, bungie highlighting the change of a stupid purple ball is a perfect example of bungies apparent priorities; focus on the trivial details of a meaningless item instead of including a new raid. I (as well as many others I play with) are judging our future Destiny playing based upon House of Wolves. Without a new raid... it is already not looking good for continued playing.
