Hey everyone! I've been wanting to make this FAQ for a while, but I never got around to it, at least until now.
Q: What exactly are these Ghost Shells?
They are shells that change the colors of your Ghost, and give them some added customization.

Q: Well, how can I get them?
There are supposedly many ways to get them, but there are only two shells that are currently known. The first is obtained by default. The second is obtained by buying a special edition of Destiny and entering a code within the box.

Q: Where do I go to pick up, or get these Ghost Shells?
The first is in your inventory by default, as I stated previously. The second, The Frontier Shell, is picked up at Special Orders. It is located directly in front of you as soon as you enter the Tower.

Q: I picked up a Dead Ghost, but didn't receive a Ghost Shell. Why?
Dead Ghosts only reward you with grimoire score at the moment, not Ghost Shells.

Q: So, How many Ghost Shells are there?
There are currently only two, but there is enough space for ten. And as you can see in the above picture, there are images of 7.

Q: I see 9 more spaces for Ghost Shells, but I only have 1, why?
The only other way to get a Ghost Shell besides the Generalist Shell is to purchase a special edition of the game. The other spaces are for multiple Ghost Shells, or maybe even Ghost Shells you'll only be able to get in DLCs.

Q: Are Ghost Shells just Shaders, but for Ghosts?
Sort of. They do change aspects of the Ghost besides the color, but for the most part that's it.

Q: I see people say "Ghost Skins" a lot. Are these different things?
That is just another name for the Ghost Shells many players have adopted. Just think of them as being the same exact thing.

Q: I see people saying they got banned for having the Intrusion Shell. Why is this?
The Intrusion Shell is only achievable by modding your console. This is a bannable offense. You will be banned from the game for this. Bans are irreversible.

Q: Is there any other way to get the Frontier Shell, rather than purchasing the Limited or Ghost Edition?
You could purchase a code off of a website like Amazon or Ebay. But, there is no guarantee the code will still be valid.

Q: My Frontier Shell, along with other DLC items, say that I need to purchase them, but I already did. How can I fix this?
This is a common problem. All you have to do is restore your licenses. See here, https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12181

Another great FAQ but I believe the only way to get the intrusion shell was not only to glitch into the area but you also needed a modded console as well
-
2 questions: What are the other things shells do? I picked up the intrusion shell normally at the spot next to the Rasputin mission without modding my console and all I got was a few grimoire things. If DLC comes out that will allow the shell, will I be able to receive it?
-
You get the intrusion shell by modding your console not glitching the area
-
Which areas to glitch in are meant? Many people say that you get the Intrusion Shell by glitching into King's Watch or The Terminal, but I can confirm that you don't get it that way. Or do you acquire them then with the modded console? Other than that, another super post! I like to see how clean they are.
