I've been thinking about ships and how they are only cosmetic loading screens when I got this idea:
One of my buddies loves Warframe. One part of Warframe that I like is the interior of your ship. I thought "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we could go inside our ships in Destiny?" then I thought "Stop talking to yourself, you fool, or they'll put you on the meds again!"
Different ships could have different interiors and different rarities could have different features. I was thinking that ship interiors could replace the "In Orbit" screen. There will be a navigation computer for space travel, a personal vault for item storage, maybe even a virtual shooting range to play around with your weaps. Another nifty addition would be a crafting bench! You can create your own custom weapons and armor based on gear you put in and your resources! You wouldn't be able to craft Exotics, naturally, so maybe just up to Legendary based on your level, gear put in, and materials.
Perhaps we could invite other players to our ships! Show off our Raid ships and throw parties, or have meetings, or throw parties. If you go to the space port in the Tower, you'll see that the ships are pretty big. Who says you can't fit all this stuff in there? (Maybe keep most of this to the higher level ships since they're bigger)
Also, side note: Space combat! Like in Halo: Reach. PvP, PvE, the works. It would be so badass!
