Save exotic engrams fools!
(Trending for all the wrong reasons lol)
Okay so in summary it seems these are the facts as determined by you guys:
Any engram received pre-DLC will contain pre-DLC items.
The contents of engrams are not determined upon drop, they are determined upon cashing them in.
However the loot table for the engram is in fact determined upon drop.
Blue engrams can be transferred across characters and 99.99% of the time will have items for the character who cashes them in
It seems the best course of action is this:
Prior to DLC launch, level all factions and cryptarch to the brink of rank up. After the DLC drops, you can quickly rank up for packages that may contain post-DLC gear
Also save your motes for exotic engrams for post-DLC purchase for a chance to receive the new exotics, and [b]possibly[/b] the old ones with the new light level or damage.
And for those who are butt hurt about the word "fool"... Think in terms of Gandalf.
