Unofficial Weekly Update 3/26/15 by MurdiusMaximus

Welcome to another Unofficial Weekly Update brought to you by MurdiusMaximus. While you wait for the real weekly update, here is something to keep your appetite at bay! The one and only Phogoth was the star of the weekly and Nightfall missions this week, and we were fortunate enough to bump into him and ask him some questions! So Phogoth, long time no see pal, how does it feel to be the star again? Phogoth destroy Guardians with brain beams. So, that's good right? Phogoth like crushing Guardians too. I bet you do. One of the burning questions that roll about is why are you locked up in chains when we enter your lair? Are you a prisoner to the Hive? PHOGOTH NOT NO PRISONER! PHOGOTH AM ANGER. PHOGOTH AM HATE! PHOGOTH DESTROY GUARDIANS!!! Whoa simmer down there chief. I was simply asking why you were bound in chains! Phogoth...was...bad ogre. What happened? Phogoth make no-no on floor. No-No...? Phogoth make no-no. What does that...never mind, I don't think I want to know...So, there is a debate right now about whether or not camping inside of the Shrieker Room is considered cheese; how do you feel when Guardians do this? ...Phogoth want cheese. Not cheese like...cheese. Cheese as in cheating. Phogoth no can have cheese? No Phogoth you can't have cheese. I'm talking about cheating! Phogoth. Want. CHEESE!!! Well I don't have any cheese! That means you can't have cheese. Ugh. Okay next question- PHOGOTH WANT CHEESE RIGHT NOW! PHOGOTH AM GETTING VERY, VERY MAD BECAUSE PHOGOTH NO HAVE CHEESE! Oh for crying out loud... PHOGOTH NOT CARE IF YOU MAD. PHOGOTH AM MORE MAD! YOU NO MAKE BRAIN BEAMS...PHOGOTH MAKE BIG BRAIN BEAMS! PHOGOTH STOMP LITTLE HUMAN! PHOGOTH WANT CHEESE RIGHT NOW! BAD PHOGOTH! ~sniff~ Why you hit Phogoth...? Because you were being very bad. ~Uncontrollable sobbing~ Human no like Phogoth... Oh come on now, I like you plenty, but you were being very bad. ~sniff~ Tell you what! Let's play a game! You tell me what you think will make Destiny better, and I'll give you a prize! ~Sniff~ Like a parade? I...no. I can't give you a parade Phogoth, but the prize will be just as awesome! Phogoth can have kitty? Jesus no...Cheese! Do you want some cheese Phogoth? PHOGOTH NO WANT CHEESE ANYMORE, PHOGOTH WANT KITTY AND PARADE! I should have just stuck with my original plan and interviewed the Gunsmith... You no like Phogoth...? UGH... And there you have it! The ferocious Phogoth ladies and gentleman! In other news the mysterious Xur arrived at the Tower last week bringing with him the Hardlight Auto Rifle. This was an unexpected surprise, as it was a weapon that he had not previously sold before. The Auto Rifle has long been considered one of the more fun weapons to use with it's flexible perks and decent impact. One forumite was quoted as saying “Hardlight is fun to use...” There was controversy over whether or not Xur had raised his prices, but it was put to rest immediately when one poster said “U idiot, primary weps have always been 23 SC.” One forumite claimed that it burns when he pees. The topic which trended briefly on the forums, was one of the more bizarre topics that has popped up lately. One forumite graciously responded “You have Super AIDS. And cancer.” Most of us were simply scratching our heads as to why this was even a topic in the first place. We asked Bungie for their thoughts on the topic, but they declined to respond. A recent poll shows us that if all of the strike bosses were to get in a fight, Valus T'Aruc would emerge as the victor. Valus, also known by his more common name, Rockets McDickface, was cited as a favorite because of a seemingly bottomless life pool and irritating tracking rockets. It was also suggested that the constant DPS of his minigun would be able to overcome anything that the other strike bosses could throw out there. Phogoth was in second place, being beat out by the narrow margin of over 2,000 votes. One forum poster pointed out that there was a potential bias in the survey however, as the survey did not include the Psion Triplets, Undying Mind, or Omnigul. Iron Banner finished up this week, and many players consider it to be a colossal failure yet again. The monthly event, which drops on or around the 17th of every month, was saturated with Fellwinter's Lie users. The Iron Banner shotgun is noted for extreme firepower and superior range when rolled with the Shot Package and Hammer Forged Rounds perks, which essentially allow it to be used in the mid range area as opposed to close range as was intended. The shotgun was the popular choice in Iron Banner, but shotguns in general seemed to be a big issue with many players. Players cited small maps that allow shotguns to dominate as the biggest issue for Iron Banner, with one forumite saying, “Bring back the big maps and see how those shotgun scrubs do then...” Forum posters also took issue with Thorn...again...citing that the weapon was OP and that only a scrub and noob would use it. Even though they themselves use shotguns. Many players want the gun nerfed because of its signature DOT damage and fire rate. One poster said “Thorn should be nerfed.” In other Iron Banner news, a poster has reached level 32 without a single piece of raid gear. He has done it by obtaining Iron Banner gear every single time that it was offered. While some people think this is garbage, most people are pretty impressed. “That's a F*** ton of grinding man good work,” said one poster. However, it is still noted that he is missing the Iron Banner helmet. Which doesn't really seem to exist. In any case, congratulations on the new rank, you give hope to PvP only players everywhere! A petition to bring Fatebringer up to current damage levels has been met with Ninja Justice on the forums. The petition had thousands of likes and bumps, and is considered to be one of the most requested items regarding feedback to Bungie. Fatebringer, one of Destiny's most iconic weapons, currently sits at a 300 attack rating due to it being rewarded to players who beat the Templar on Hard mode Vault of Glass. Players bumped the petition thousands of times, signifying that this was a very much wanted request, but for mysterious reasons the Ninjas put the kabosh on the thread, closing it down. This is sure to annoy many posters, and it brings about the burning question: why did Bungie, who is very upfront about wanting to hear feedback from players, close down one of the threads that was one of the largest petitions on the forums? Why was this thread met with Ninja Justice, yet the “Xur is Extended” post that Deej made clear back at Christmas still active? Why was the Fatebringer petition removed, yet slandering, harshly worded and offensive posts allowed to remain? {EDIT: It appears that the petition has been reinstated. For the last two days the topic was under review for Ninja Justice...very curious...} Deej dropped a hint in his last Official Weekly Update that he might be talking about Vault Space in this week's weekly update. This caused a stir throughout the community. Vault Space, which has been the leading issue players have had with the game, is something Bungie says that they have heard loud and clear, and it is exciting to say the least that at long last, we might get some kind of confirmation of what is going on. Or we will get a teaser about it and have to wait longer. We've reached out to Bungie, but...yada, yada, yada you know the drill. Tensions are beginning to mount as burnout on Destiny continues to grow. With Bloodborne and the Handsome Jack collection being released, as well as heists on GTAV, there are more options available that seem to be tearing players away from Destiny. The burnout is occurring due to players who have either collected everything and have nothing left to do, or the more pressing issue of RNG not providing players with much wanted items. One forumite was quoted as saying “I can only chase a carrot for so long before I get to the point where I lose faith, and don't want to invest any more time.” The largest offenders are the Gjallarhorn and the Black Hammer, which both seem to have abysmally low drop rates. The Black Hammer has a standard max of three chances a week to obtain it via the normal Crota's End Raid, and is considered to be the most difficult to obtain of the raid weapons. Gjallarhorn fares only slightly better, where it is a chance drop from anywhere that an exotic can be obtained, yet it seems that it has the lowest overall drop rate of any of the exotics next to Thunderlord. The Husk of the Pit and Crux of Crota are also sore points as well; one poster noted that he had killed over 611 swordbearers in an attempt to get the Husk, and still had no luck. Other raiders with over 60 Crota hard completions are having trouble getting the Crux to drop. There's a rumor about that it will be the Universal Remote from Xur this week, but that was the rumor last week, and it was wrong! Here's hoping for that Gjallarhorn! Thanks as always for reading, keep those guns firing and those Strange Coins handy! See you in the wild...

Awesome! The part about the fatebringer petition was just perfect. Also, this was way better than the actual weekly update. I read and enjoyed every word, which is much more than I can say about any of deej's weekly updates lol. Good stuff buddy.
