The Great Invasion Part Three

-The Northern Wall, Watchtower 45, 4:07 AM- Falcon walked over to the watchtower that his sister, Rose, and the Warlock were at. When he entered the watchtower, he was surprised to see that the watchtower was barely standing. Rose was sitting down, leaning up against the wall, and the other Warlock was leaning against a wall, experimenting with a miniature nova bomb in his hand. Falcon asked him "What is your name, sir? I haven't seen you around the tower before." The Warlock responded "That's because I haven't been in the Tower for over three years. Some call me insane, others call me a priest. I am a Cryptarch. A 'priest' of the Hive. My name is Toland, The Shattered." Rose and Falcon were immediately shocked and gasped in suprise. Rose asked "How did you make it out of the Hellmouth?!" Toland replied "The Hive were...understanding. After Crota's death they simply gave up. They allowed me passage to the surface and from there I simply blinked back to Earth. Do not forget my knowledge of the Warlock tomes. However I blinked to the Mothyards in Old Russia and it took me a while to get here." Falcon said "Eris will be happy to see you alive. She must've thought you died in the pit." Toland chuckled. "There isn't much in this universe that can kill me. I went in to the Vault of Glass to study it and came back out with one of the Templar's eyes." Rose and Falcon grinned at that statement. They decided it was time to return to the Tower, and they exited the watchtower. -The Tower, Courtyard, 4:15 AM- Sapphire was still leaning against the strut, looking up at the sky when Falcon, his sister Rose, and a Warlock she had not seen before approached her. Falcon reached out his hand and Sapphire grabbed it and hoisted herself up. She greeted Rose and asked who the Warlock was. "I am Toland, The Shattered. The story of how I got here you will soon find out." Sapphire was amazed that Toland was alive and had actually escaped the Hellmouth. Sapphire followed the group over to where Eris was standing at. Toland greeted her "It has been a while since I saw you back in the Hellmouth a few months ago." Eris' jaw dropped. She replied "Good to see you too, Toland. Now, how exactly did you get out?!" Toland relayed how he had escaped the Hellmouth after Crota's death. Eris was amazed. After the two had their reunion, Sapphire suggested that they start piecing together what to do about the Fallen threat and what house is launching the attacks. Toland and Eris agreed and Toland bid Eris farewell for the time being and they all went to the Vanguard Hall. -The Tower, Vanguard Hall, 4:20 PM- The Vanguard mentors, Shaxx, Saladin, and the factions were all grouped around the central table. They were planning what to do about the unknown Fallen house that posed a threat to the city. While the discussion was going on, Toland reached into his pocket and pulled out a Fallen Vandal cloak that was colored orange and red with fire as the symbol for the house in the middle of the cloak. Toland said "This cloak belongs to a Vandal that was part of the House of Vengeance. That house is what we are dealing with. Every single Fallen house, even the House of Kings, has poured troops and supplies into this house's reserves. They plan to recreate what occurred in the battle of Twilight Gap, only this time, they intend to be victorious." Everyone seemed to take in this information slowly. Saladin finally asked "So then, Toland, how are we supposed to defeat a force twice as large as the force we encountered at Twilight Gap?" Toland responded "That is why I am here. My knowledge of the Void and Sun will help greatly in defeating this invasion force. I demonstrated my abilities when defending the wall against that Devil Walker." Rose and Falcon nodded. "I alone can take on an army of Devil Walkers, but when I share my knowledge with other Warlocks, we will be unstoppable." Saladin looked apprehensive. He disliked Toland for worshipping the Hive. He thought Toland was untrustworthy, but he believed that Toland could work wonders against their enemies. Saladin said "So then, what is your plan?" Toland seemed to think for a minute before responding. "I will educate Warlocks that are willing in how to wield Void and Solar energy at the same time. Titan leaders, Zavala, Saladin, Shaxx, you will pick which wall to defend, just like during Twilight Gap. Each of you will have an even amount of battle frames at your command. Hunters, you will be using your abilities and skill sets as best as you can out on the front lines. Titans will either choose to go with a Titan leader or to help assault the enemies on the battlefield. Warlocks, you will be learning what to do soon. If we can all agree to be present during the battle.." Toland glanced over at Cayde-6, the Hunter mentor, and Cayde seemed to understand why. "...then we will emerge victorious." Toland lifted his hand up and shouted "So who is with me?!" Everyone cheered, excluding the Titan leaders Zavala, Shaxx, and Saladin, and agreed with Toland's plan. The Titan leaders pondered for another minute or two then looked at each other and agreed with his plan. Toland then led Warlocks into the courtyard to educate them on how to wield the power of the Void and the Sun simultaneously. Sapphire spotted Falcon amongst the crowd and moved toward him. He was standing with Rose, holding his hand on her shoulder. Once Sapphire met up with them, they all headed towards the Speaker's study to give him the news. They gave the Speaker the news, and he agreed that something had to be done. He contacted every Guardian and gave them the news. "Finish your Crucible match, finish your patrol mission, load your weapons and head to the Tower. We need as many Guardians as we can get to defend our last pocket of civilization. We need you, Guardians. Return to the Tower and your mentors will brief you on what to do." As he was relaying the S.O.S. message, the group walked back to the courtyard to watch the Warlocks. The Warlocks learned quickly. Most of them had already mastered Voidsinging, as Toland called it. After they watched the lightshow of Fire and Void, they went to the Gunsmith to prepare their weapons before battle. They knew the Fallen would arrive soon. Everyone did. They all prepared and waited for orders from the Speaker. It would be too late. -END OF PART THREE- Part Four https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/110153115/0/0
