Factual evidence, huh? Metacritic fan and reviewer scores. Obviously it must be at least good judging by the reception. Plus I've played it and I love it.

I think its completely over rated. The good.... the graphics, art and atmosphere is very well done. Enemy/boss design is awesome! These guys were on acid when they made this game. The bad.... Very mechanical and slow lag like controls (robotic). Theres lag to your moves, like my character is on some server and im experiencing non stop controller lag. The game mechanics require you to jump and dodge... wouldn't be a problem, but thats caused me to get stuck in geometry more than once. I get stuck in a wall, get killed, loose all progress and echoes. There goes an hour or two. Load times. Ive put almost 40 hours in this game and ten of those hours has been watching a loading screen. Coop is retarded, if you and a friend have already beat the same boss, you will never be able to play coop on that stage again. Plus you have to grind for insight to even do coop. If you or your buddy get dc'd, you must use more insight to get another session going. Imagine farming glimmer just so you can play online with others. Want to just chill and have a good PVE experience and friend? Nope, get ready to have PVP thrown into your life. Sort of like doing a story mission in destiny and having crucible drop into it. I didnt mind, but a girl I play with never wants to do coop again because of it. Game is very anti social. Story? Destiny has more story than Bloodborne does. Severe lack of direction in the game. 9 out of 10 people looked at a guide more than once. I keep playing because Im still trying to find out why everyone says its so good. still looking. So far the game is VERY meh.

Why can't I have a shield that's more useful than a potato chip? Why can't I have cool looking plate armor anymore? Why does the game insist on me using these guns that require no skill or effort? To cut to the grit of my question; why can't I play the game how I want to play anymore, Fromsoft? What if I never liked being a flighty, cowardly DEX build? What if I never liked having seventy thousand I-frames, and actually liked feeling like a pillar of strength to make up for my own inadiquecies? What if I liked having a real role playing game instead of this character action wannabe trash that makes other people feel cool but not me? Don't tell me to use the kirkhammer if I want a strength build with no guns(because blunt weapons suck, I want a propper greatsword and shield build), don't tell me that I can just equip the torch, and certainly don't tell me that a shield that has less defensive capability than a blind fanboy's argument is an acceptable substitute. To clarify, Bloodborne as a standalone game is good. It's fine. It has unmatched level design and beautiful graphics, and very right controls. However, as a fan of DeS and DaS 1 and 2, it is an offensive and outrageous waste of time and money, and I like DaS far better and view it as the superior game, which is admittedly completely subjective. It's precisely the same problem the Elder Scrolls games have. Let's trade graphical fidelity for a worse story and less customizability, which apeals to a large, sheep-like fan base, but alienates we who appreciated the finer points. Ending statement; when this comment gets blasted with both blind hate and well-formed arguments to the contrary, I'll still be playing DaS 1 and 2, two very much better games than Bloodborne on their own right.

Rejoice, for you were wrong! I've just begun, but so far it's incredible. :) Loving the atmosphere. It is so genuinely creepy. A lot of games fail at horror, but Bloodborne surprisingly exceeds in this aspect, by coupling the frightening (and incredibly well designed) monsters with the same fear-of-death that we've come to expect out of the souls games. Combat is excellent thus far as well. Praise the sun, I have tomorrow off of work. I will spend the entire day forming further impressions. Cannot wait. [spoiler]Also, ragdolls are back! I never really cared about scores and reviews, and like any other game i bought for ps4 so far, ive bought them with the " im gonna play with my friends" in mind. Didnt get to play with my friends so far in Bloodborn lol (game mechanics) after 6 hrs. But man, it sure feels like a breath of fresh air from Destiny's grind. Im hooked and love it.

Well, looks like you've been proven wrong.

Only thing that sucks is that half the fanbase is alienated with the exclusive release on ps4. Hell, probably even more since the PC port was successful this time around.

Just got it and played it for 30 mins..pretty good game so far. Destiny is still my favorite though but I'll spend some time on it. It's a gorgeous game.
