3 things you want that would improve Halo 4.

T4R 1) Improve characteristics of the Covenant and Promethean AI. On any difficulty above Normal, the Promethean-Knights are bloody cowards; they’ll teleport around, recharge their shields in about 3 seconds, and leap on you with their overpowered weapons. They’re not fun to fight on anything beyond Normal. The Covenant lack the characterisation that made them so great in Halo CE, they're unemotive and you can't play around with their AI as well as you could. Halo’s enemy AI has generally been pretty good, but I feel that they’re the weakest they’ve been in Halo 4. 2) More campaign missions. I love the story of Halo 4, I think it's the best in the series (next to ODST and Halo 2) but the pacing is off in some bits which really could have had an extra level or two put in. The first would be after Forerunner where you see the Infinity crash land, the scene just cuts from the top of a mountain to a jungle. IMO there could have been a 'hell descent' style level down the mountain to reach the jungle. The other would be set after Shutdown where you go to Ivanoff Station, but instead of going straight there you go down to Installation 03 first and discover more about the Didact's backstory from the novels in flashback sequences and the impending threat posed by the Precursors. 3) Forge - specifically bring back the editing tools that Reach had and give us just 1 map like Sandbox where we have a vast, flat terrain to Forge on with a large pallet of objects. That'd pretty much seal the deal for me and put Halo 4 above ODST and Halo 2. How about you guys?

      • Traditional matchmaking playlists. Not this gametype crap. Given the above, more maps (including community content) Fix spartan ops. Make it more like campaign or more like firefight. Also, better challenges

          • More symetrical maps, and the Forge maps, in multiplayer. As it is, all that ever gets voted is Exile, Longbow, and Ragnarok. There are few good small team maps and Haven is almost always voted up. It would be nice to get some variety. Prometheans on Legendary do need a nerf. They are not fun to fight at all. It takes 1- 1 1/2 clips from a lightrifle to kill them and then they can just be ressurected by any watcher. Whenever they teleport, they also regenerate their shields, which sucks. Stop repeating areas in Spartan Ops. There are plenty of multiplayer and campaign maps that are unused, why do we need to fight in the same jungle base and orange stone canyon every single week? A little variety will go a long way.

            • 1. Classic playlist hoppers where you can vote for gametype and map. Team Doubles, Multi Team etc would also be great since the options right now suck. 2. Weapon changes to stop the DMR dominating at every range. 3. Some kind of competitive ranking system or at least some competitive playlists, stat pad Reach playlists get boring quick.

            • 1. Better maps, especially a decent forge map. 2. Bring back all previous gametypes with full customizable options for each of them. This is what halo 4 lacks the most in my opinion, in halo 3 and reach I could play it almost like a strategy game, but now there are few gametypes that play much differently from slayer. Personally I need some overarching goal to strive for in order to keep interest, just running around a map shooting the same people over and over is incredibly boring to me. 3. Tweak the sandbox and weapon placement. I actually like the drop system, but having only 1 random weapon appear at a time isn't enough, and random drops should be centered and never give one side an immediate advantage (looking at you, binary rifle on ragnarok). There also need to be more respawning weapons on the map, currently only ragnarok has respawning sniper rifles. There should also be loadout and sub-power weapons like needlers and DMRs on the map as well, so people can effectivly change loadouts on the go. Lastly I don't think the DMR and Boltshot should be spawning weapons but pickup weapons instead. Just nerfing them won't really help anything in my opinion, but they are very well suited as pickup weapons.

            • Multi-team. More maps. Vanilla-esque Halo. (Weapons spawn on map at certain times in certain areas, not randomly, no instant respawns, no AAs)

            • 1) Increase boltshot range by a few metres. 2) Increase boltshot damage by about 40... or 50% 3) Triple the boltshot clip size

                • These will seem nitpicky compared to some of you guys, but since the big issues were already addressed (again, by y'all)... 3.) Fix Forge. As has been said repeatedly, the editing tools are lacking when compared to Reach and the options for creativity are limited. 2.) Fix the DMR. Holy, holy, holy, HOLY, holy shit, that thing is overpowered. It's not even fun to play with because of how insanely powerful it is, and playing against it is downright infuriating. 1.) Give me back the goddamn Falcon, please.

                • 1) smaller, more arena like maps. Haven is one of my favourite maps in the series, and Adrift isn't as good but isn't far behind. 2) tweaks to the balance of the sandbox 3)increase the player cap per game, once the sandbox has been tweaked so that long range weapons no longer dominate everywhere.

                • 4 Steps to make it the best Halo MP in existence: - Remove the DMR, go back to 3/2's system of having some games with AR starts & most with BR starts - Remove all 'weapon spawn things' which weren't in H2/3, i.e. remove loadouts & go back to a weapon spawn-on-map system - Remove all perks (including sprint) - Speed up Spartans a bit, heighten the jumps.

                      1) Add in a few more lines of dialogue to allow for better understanding of the story for newcomers. Seriously, all it would take to clear up the Storm Covenant is (In the cutscene where Chief first meets Del Rio and is told of the Infinity's purpose): "What are the Covenant doing here?" "They're a rogue faction Chief. They call themselves the Storm, and they still follow the Prophet doctrine." Don't get me wrong, I still think the story of 4 is [I]by far[/I] the best of the series and one of the best in any recent FPS, but a little extra dialogue would have been enough to clear up half of everybody's problems with the story. 2) Completely redo half the level design in the game. Stop with this Halo 2/3/Reach lack of player choice and sandbox elements bullsh1t. Give me the open, airy fields of CE where I can setup battles like the Rockslide megabattle, or the Twin Bridges megabattle. 3) Completely redo the Covenant AI. I like the Promethean's chaotic approach to the battlefield (though that could still be greatly improved), but the Covenant are at their (excluding lolwallhackauotaimconcussionriflespam Reach) absolute worst. Make them [I]reactive[/I] again, bring back roaming from CE, widen the variance gap (i.e. make Zealots ACT like Zealots, minors ACT like minors, etc.)

                        Also, have you noticed how [I]brilliant[/I] of an antonym the Prometheans are to the Chief? Chief is a machine becoming a human. Prometheans are humans turned machines. It's simple, yet brilliant things like this that make Halo 4 by far my favorite of the Halo series (in terms of story).
