I started a Titan last week, leveled up to 20 over the weekend, and then finally used all the Titan armor I'd accumulated on my Warlock and Hunter, and got it straight to 28...
But now I'm stuck. For some reason, presumably because I leveled it up so quickly, I have literally no Plasteel Plating. I've already used what I had in the first round of armor upgrades (although it's really cool that all my armor levels up at the same time because it was all new).
I've read posts that suggest buying helmets from Vanguard and dismantling them but at 400 glimmer they ain't cheap and that doesn't sound cost effective... Like, I'd get 2 mats per helmet... That'd give me about 60 in total from 25k spent? (I'm just guessing these numbers, I'm at work and can't check).
Does anyone have a sure fire way of getting mats fast?
Edit. Thanks for the tips guys, most of which I knew but hoped they'd be something even quicker, but a couple of good ones in there I didn't think to try! Thanks.

I had the same problem with my Titan. I saved blue engrams from my other character and decoded them with my Titan for armor to dismantle. Also, just run a bunch of Roc strikes.

Get yourself a good chest farm loop ... you'll get a bunch of greens in no time plus glimmer and upgrade materials.

Run ROC strikes Decrypt blue armor engrams Level up blue armor without actually uprgrading Dismantle PROFIT Using bounties to level the armor is the fastest way I've found. It's one bounty to level green armors, three to level blues. This nets you around 3-5 platings per armor when you dismantle.

Roc or tiger strikes, give lots of engram drops. I had the same problem on my Titan.

Roc strikes or patrol generally dishes out plenty of green engrams. Also transfer any blue armour engrams you find on other characters to the vault for your titan to decrypt.

Roc strikes is the best I know
