Its time for a real challenge guardians
Weekly Nightmare Strike
This will be the hardest among all three weekly strike and would use the same strike as the weekly heroic.
Modifiers:
Legendary: Very strongly shielded and aggressive enemies appear in uncountable numbers.
Nightmare: You must wait 30 seconds before reviving a dead guardian. If all players die, the fireteam will be returned to orbit.
Angry: Minions of the Darkness won't flinch, even after massive damage.
Juggler: No ammo drops for your equipped weapon.
Lightswitch: Minions of the Darkness deal much more melee damage.
One way Arc Burn: Arc Damage from enemy fire is strongly increased.
One way Solar Burn: Solar Damage from enemy fire is strongly increased.
One way Void Burn: Void Damage from enemy fire is strongly increased.
Chalice of Darkness: Healing disabled at no respawn zone. Orbs heal with no matter your armour.
Chain of Darkness: Guardians must stay in close proximity to each other or slowly lose health.
Weight of Darkness: Guardians must stay in cose proximity to each other or Weight of Darkness Stacks.
Blind: No radar or indication of where damage came from.
Drunk bullet: Enemys cannot be dealt precision damage.
Will of the Gods: You may equip exotics on every slot.
Rewards:
Now the best part, this is what you will get after surviving such nightmare. When you complete the nightmare there will be two steps in which you will be able to choose ONE of the following:
Exotic weapons: When you choose this, three exotic weapons are rolled out and you can choose one.
Exotic armour: When you choose this, three exotic armours are rolled out for your class, and you can choose one.
Legendary weapon: When you choose this, three legendary weapons are rolled out, but they are perkless. After you choose you gun, you may choose the damage type (for special and heavy guns) one of the scopes, one of the talents and both perks.
Materials Pack: A pack containing 50 strange coins, 50 motes of light, 60 ascendent shards, 60 ascendent energies, 40 radiant shards, 40 radiant energies, 150 of each planet`s material, 150 weapon parts and 150 class specific armour upgrading materials.
-No matter what reward you choose, you'll also get 1200 reputation points and 250% XP boost that stacks with the nightfall boost
-And when you beat it the first time you unlock a exclusive emblem and a shader
Bonus:
Still to easy.... no? Okay, here you go: You got only one chance to do the nightmare every week, if you fail, come back next week.
You still saying it is too easy...? okay... solo it and be happy: If you manage to solo it, you get all three weapons/armour when you make the first choice over the rewards.
Good Luck Guardians... And have nice nightmares

Hey guess what BUMP
-
Imagine a crucible nightmare mode where if you die your dead in that mode for the whole week.
-
I worry this would cross the line from "enjoyable challenge" to "hiding in a corner swearing your head off and eventually putting your controller through the tv maddeningly hard"
-
-
Nightfall story missions could be a real challenge :)
-
My exotic in every slot class would be: achyophages Don't touch me Crest of alpha lupi Radiant dance machines My weapons: red death Ice breaker Gjallahorn

Wow lol. You should call this Weekly Hair Loss Strike or Weekly Vein Busting Strike. I would chuck my copy of Destiny into the street with this insane amount of difficulty. Actually never mind, we need more challenge this is not hard enough. A few more modifiers for you: Piercing Darkness: All enemy fire is now Super Hyper Ultra armor piercing. They shoot though anything! (Including Titan bubbles) Animal Kingdom: Be randomly sent back to orbit for no reason with an accompanying error code. Send you Home Crying: If sent back to orbit for any reason, Glimmer is reset to 0 and all equipment loses Experience. (Shards and energies not refunded.) Darkness Looms: All enemy bullets do splash damage. Devouring Darkness: All enemy bullets apply a DoT effect that lasts forever. Thriving Darkness: If all enemies are not killed in a wave within a certain amount of time, all enemies re spawn with shields. I Could Tell you: The Minions of Darkness are invisible and make no noise. Don't have time to explain: Guardians die randomly for no reason. Hope this helps making Destiny a fun game that Bungie means for you to play it. :)

Here's a modifier for you: Marooned: On wipe, all players in the strike team will be placed on a random planet
-
that sounds extremely suspenseful. why the f not.
-
Could be interesting, but I'm COMPLETELY against the whole try once a week thing. That'd get old fast.
-
Sounds like this could keep some endgamers happy for a while
-
Interesting concept. I think it would feel strange to modify the current strike playlist in this way and suggest that it should be a completely different play mode. Based on what I have seen, even from strong players, I would estimate that the vast majority would not be able to complete this mode (myself included). I suspect the number would be a few thousand players, so I doubt Bungie would throw any resources at this unless it had broader appeal. Maybe adding checkpoints/chests so that you get some loot for partial completion could help.

With one difference:
you can use the Konami code to instantly get the rewards
Hi. Well thought out idea. You know what would make it definitely challenging / nightmarish? Modifier: Spoil of war: If all the active players are sent back to orbit... one of them will have a weapon/piece of armor currently equipped removed from his or her inventory!! Reward: My precious: All the lost items are returned to victorious guardians. Kinda scary if you ask me, to the point where I wonder if I would try it.

Edited by Arclight123: 3/10/2015 3:55:58 PMGreat idea. I like the once a week bit ..... Will make you play strategically ..... I'd even add no re spawn However the staying close together idea wouldn't work as this would stop strategy , you could flank or even leave one on a high position to give sniper cover Overall a good idea
-
Bump would actually show that you can earn rewards
-
I think this would literally make some people go insane...
-
Sounds a little more challenging... like it
-
petition to get this type of strike added to the game. all in favour say "HELL YEAH"
-
I will say one thing
this just got revived
-
-
Wow. That's impressive, and rather difficult. I'd do it, however add another choice to the exotic pool. How about exp. and rep. boost of 300% instead of the normal 125%.
-
Perfect! Gimme!
-
If bungie does anything like this I think it should be a pve event similar to iron banner. It comes out every month or so but you only have a week to do it. One thing I would change is the only one try. Let us shoot the bullet sponges until we are successful.
-
Lol completely ridiculous and will never happen. But I like it.

One of the most original ideas ive seen since day one. Good job! Bumpity bump
